Jean Garcia is a veteran Filipina actress who we first saw
as the Iconic Madam Claudia Buenavista
in the original PangakoSaYo (The Promise, 2000).
Jean Garcia played
Angelo’s ruthless mother who held a wealth of secrets and did everything in her
power to keep Angelo from her true love, Yna.
The role was Jean Garcia’s most notable role to date and it
came at a time that she had almost given up on her career and had even
relocated to Japan for a couple of years where she worked as a dancer. Jean
Garcia returned to the Philippines to play the role which re-launched her
acting career. After The Promise, Jean
Garcia appeared in Kaytagal Kang Hinintay
(The Long Wait) as Lady Morganna which she was also
brilliant in.
After a successful career in ABSCBN, Jean Garcia moved to
the rival network, GMA where she has been for almost 10 years now. We got to
see her in GMA dramas like Impostora,
Dyesebel, All About Eve and One True
Love.
Pertaining to her personal life, Jean Garcia has never
gotten married. She however has two children. Her eldest daughter Jennica Garcia is also a Kapuso actress
and we saw her in Marian Rivera’s Carmela where she played Alliyah. Jennica is married to Alwyn Uytingco
and together, they have a girl called Athena Mori. Jean Garcia also has a 14
year old son called Kotaro.

In a recent interview, Jean Garcia who is now single after
breaking up with her boyfriend of 7 years in 2015 said that she is focusing on
her life and enjoying making decisions without having to refer them to someone
else. At 47, Jean Garcia is however open to finding her ideal man and getting married. Jean
Garcia also enjoys taking care of her grand-daughter.
Jean Garcia is still relevant in the Filipino showbiz
industry having appeared in the highly successful GMA Drama,The Half Sisters. Her recent
appearance was this year’s Kapuso drama Pinulot Ka
Lang Sa Lupa alongside Benjamin Alves.
