We started with Leah and Tifanny taking Mr. Sol to the
hospital for a checkup after his outburst on finding out that Leah was married.
The doctor said he was fine after examining him but advised that he should not
get too upset.
Tiffany told Leah not to tell their father that her marriage
to Clark was arranged for her to get her green card since it would only upset
him more. She told her that the only way they could get away with things was if
Clark and her continued to pretend that they were married.
Mr. Sol talked to Tolayts about Clark and Tolayts told him
to be glad since he was adding another member to the family and he was not bad
looking either. Mr. Sol however wanted to verify that Clark was a good fit for
Leah so he asked Leah to call him. He took the phone from Leah and invited Clark
over to the house the following day. He also told Tiffany to buy some alcohol
because his plan was to get Clark drunk; arguing that a person was most honest
when he was drunk.
When Clark arrived the next afternoon, Leah went to get him
and told him not to tell her father that they had an arranged marriage. She
asked him not to worry because what her father wanted was to know what kind of
person he was. Leah also told him that
the interrogation would only be for a few days and Clark had to say that he was
returning to America so that her father could stop asking about him.
When the two arrived, the entire neighborhood was waiting
for them. Clark was welcomed and given shot after shot as Mr. sol and the rest
asked him all kinds of questions. They asked Clark where he was from, what kind
of jobs he did back in America, whether he had any children, etc. Clark
answered all the question diligently and
by the time they got to the “Do you Love Leah” question, he was drunk silly. He
said he loved Leah very much as he lay his head on her shoulder. Mr. Sol asked
him when he was returning to the US and he said in a month’s time. Leah said in
a week and Mr. Sol asked them which one it was. Clark insisted that he was
staying for a month so that he could spend more time with Leah but Leah said
that Clark was leaving in a week so that he could attend to his clients. Mr.
Sol said that one drinking session was not enough for him to get to know Clark
so he asked him to visit more often. Clark said that he would got there daily
and Leah asked where he would stay. Mr. Sol told her that Clark would stay in
her room since they were already married.
Clark woke up to give a toast but got nauseated. Leah took
him aside and he puked. They came back with Clark covered in puke and he said
that he had to head home but he blacked out in Leah’s arms. Mr. Sol told her to
take him to sleep and Leah had to drag Clark all the way to her room. She
removed his shirt so that she could wash it and a drunken Clark acted all cute
as he asked her whether he had impressed her father. He told her that no acting
was needed since everything he felt for her was true. Leah managed to remove
his shirt and shoes and let him sleep.
Leah slept beside Clark and in the morning, she found
herself huddled up next to him. She moved aside but Clark found her and held
her in her arms. She shrugged away from him as she went to have breakfast.
Clark woke up shirtless and was thoroughly embarrassed when
he walked out and found everyone having breakfast. Leah explained that Clark
did not have a shirt since she had washed it so Mr. Sol asked Tolayts to lend
Clark one before he caught a cold. After breakfast, Clark left for work and
said he would be back in the weekend.
When he went home, his grandmother asked him why he had
stayed over at Leah’s when they were not together. Clark told her that he got
too drunk and could not get back home. She asked him to be careful with Leah
because Jigs still wanted her back and they did not want to anger him. Clark told
her that he would not be back the entire weekend since he had something to
attend to.
After work, Clark went and got settled at Leah’s house. He
still noticed that Mr. Sol was not fond of him and he asked Tolayts what he
could do to get his favor. Tolayts told Clark that he needed to court his
father in law and one of the things he should do was fetch water. Clark fetched
water for Mr. Sol’s bath but since he was still not impressed, Tolayts asked
him to fetch water for the entire tenement and that’s what Clark did!
Jigs got a job and his mother was impressed with him. He
said that he planned on getting another one too and Jack was glad at how
hardworking he was becoming. She however asked him not to do those things all
because of Leah.
Aunt Jack called her mother to check up on her and she ended
up telling her that Clark was in the Philippines. Jigs got upset when he found
out and told Jack that he wanted to return to the Philippines too since Clark
had gone to get Leah back. That was where we ended…
