BE MY LADY Episode 35 & 36

Episode 35

We started with Pinang and her family trying to collect the money that they needed to buy back the farm since they only had a few days.
Mackie, Julian and Grandpa Apo all brought their savings. When they were counting the money, Marcy’s sister Felipa called to tell them that she would send them 200,000.

Pinang went to deliver her caramel custards and ran into Nars and Miggy. She told them that she was unable to get the US Visa and they only had   a few days to get the money to buy back the farm.  She had to rush off to De Luna’s while Nars and Miggy decided to do something to help Pinang raise money for the farm.

When Pinang arrived at De Luna’s the manager told her that they would order 30 more batches of Caramel custards from her every day because they would be opening a new branch.

Elsa passed by to see Marcy and scolded her for not telling her that she needed money to buy back the farm because they were best friends. Marcy said that Elsa was having problems with her husband when she called so she was not able to tell her. Elsa handed Marcy the check and Marcy was in tears. Elsa told her not to be so emotional. Pinang was back from De Luna’s and thanked Elsa as well. Elsa told her that Nars and Miggy were having a garage sale to help raise some more money and Pinang went to help them.

Margaret talked to Julian at work and told him that she already talked to her grandmother and she agreed to give him two months advance on his salary. Julian thanked her for what she had done and promised to get her some caramel custards because Margaret seemed to like them.

When Pinang went to Miggy’s, Phil called to ask where she was  and she said that they were organizing  a garage sale at Miggy’s. Phil asked if he could join them and Nars and Miggy were both up for it so Pinang asked Phil to come. They spent the day there, busy and bumping into each other as they organized the clothes and other stuff for the garage sale. After everything was sold, Miggy counted it and gave it to Pinang.

The following morning, Marcy and her family all gathered up to count the money they had collected and it amounted to a little over 1.9 million. The workers at the farm also passed by to give some money that the other farmers had pitched in. Andy called Emil to ask how much they had collected and he said that they had around 2 Million. Andy told Emil to go to his house with the money and said that he would take care of the rest of the payment. The deadline was not yet due but Andy said he felt uneasy because Sol was always on the phone with the other buyer; Mr. Gopez. Emil and his family were delighted and they all collected the money so that Emil could go get the deed of sale.

Phil learnt that Andy had offered to take care of the rest of the payment so he told Dahlia to let the money stay in her account for a while since Pinang and her family had the help they needed.

When Emil got to Andy’s house, he overheard him having an argument  with Sol. Andy had told Sol that he would give Emil the 1.5 million to finish his payment and Sol said  that it was stupid to buy his own land with their money. Andy told Sol that he would no longer let her stop him from helping his family but Sol threatened to leave Andy if he went along with it.

Andy left after he heard them and when Andy called Emil asked that he reconsider giving them his help because he did not want him to have problems with his wife for helping them. The news came as a blow to the rest of the family and they all lost hope of getting the farm back since they still needed 1.5 Million. Pinang asked them not to give up and said that she would go to see Aunt Sol the following morning and beg or cry if she had to so that she would agree to lend them the money to buy it back.

In the morning, Pinang was on her way to deliver her custards but her bike broke down. She tried to reach Mackie but his phone was off. Phil ran into her and noticed that she was upset. She told him that Andy was not able to give them the money to buy the farm so she still had to go there to ask them to reconsider. Phil asked how much they needed and when Pinang said 1.5 Million, Phil said that he had it. He helped get a jeep for her then told her to go to Andy’s house as he went to the bank to get the cheque.

Mr. Gopez called Sol to tell her that he was on his way with the money to get the farm. Andy was upset that Sol did not want to give Emil a chance and he said that he would not sign any papers. Just then, Pinang called Andy to tell him that Phil agreed to loan them the 1.5 M so they would be able to make the payment. Andy was glad but Sol decided that the first person to arrive at her house with the full payment would get the money. She then called Mr. Gopez to tell him about the change in plan. Gabby also called Pinang and asked her to hurry up and arrive there first.

Pinang got Marcy and Emil and they went to Andy’s house but Phil was not yet there. Sol said that the person with the full payment would get the land so Pinang called Phil to ask where he was. Fortunately, Mr. Gopez got a flat tire and was not able to get there on time. Phil got the money with Dahlia’s help and when he pulled up outside Andy’s house, everyone; except Sol was overjoyed to see him. Marcy and Pinang could not help but cry. Emil was able to give the full payment to Andy and Sol and they signed the deed of sale.

A few weeks later, Emil and Marcy got the title for their land and they celebrated this along with Phil. They also decided to give him the title of the land as a guarantee that they would pay him back the money he gave them.

Terrence and Rose called Phil to ask him if he would go back to Singapore since his mission to help Marcy was done but Phil said that he still had his ducks. Terrence called him out and said that he only wanted to stay there because of Pinang and Phil finally admitted it. He also said that he would start courting her.

Episode 36

Phil woke up early to go to Pinang’s place because he had an early delivery for his eggs. He kept yawning as he greeted Pinang good morning so she invited him over for a cup of coffee. Phil thanked her in Portuguese and she asked him how to say ‘you’re welcome’. While he was taking his coffee, he asked Pinang whether she planned to work abroad after her bar results were out and Pinang said no. She said that she still needed to have working experience first and also her caramel custard business was doing well so she would focus on that as well as her volunteer work at the clinic. Phil surmised that since she no longer had to review, she had some free time so he asked her if she would go out for a snack with him. Pinang asked him why he wanted to take her out but before he could answer, Marcy and Emil joined them. Phil greeted them and thanked Pinang again for the coffee; then left to take care of his ducks.

The farm workers had  seen Phil taking coffee with Pinang and they teased him when he got back. They also showed him how to court her.

Julian gave Margaret two batches of Caramel Custards to thank her for her help and asked to meet her grandmother so that he could thank her in person but Margaret did not want that. They also paired together for a project at school.

After Pinang was done delivering her caramel custards, Gabby called her and asked that they go out. She also told Pinang  to invite her friends so Pinang called Nars and Miggy.

As the three of them were waiting for Gab to arrive, Phil came to give Pinang some fish balls he had bought just for her. Gab arrived to get them and told Phil that he had to go with them.

They stopped over at the gas station and Phil got out to buy something to eat while Gab went to answer a call. He got water for all of them since no one asked for anything and specially opened Pinang’s water bottle. When Gab returned, she offered to take them out to lunch first so they went to a restaurant.

When everyone else went to get their order, Phil stayed with Pinang and said that he would order along with her. He said he wanted to ask her something and Pinang waited to hear what he had to say but he ended up asking what the title of the restaurant meant. After Pinang answered him, she asked if that was really the question he had in mind but before Phil could answer, Emil called Pinang and the chance was gone.

When they got their order, Phil paid special attention to Pinang which did not escape the notice of Nars and Miggy. A guy at the restaurant came to greet Miggy and she remembered that they went to high school together. He was also her crush but it did not work out but then he paid close attention to her this time. He gave Miggy her favorite dessert, then his number and gave her some food to take with her.

Gab wanted to watch a movie that would be screened a little later so they all decided to go to the arcade. Phil and Pinang did a dancing game and they were so immersed in it, Nars and Miggy left them alone after taking a picture of them. Gab had gone to receive another call and got back when Phil was about to ask Pinang if he could court her. His second chance was gone and they all went to the karaoke bar to sing with Emerson who they ran into at the arcade.

The workers at the farm had told Emil that Phil would court Pinang but he did not pay attention to them. Miggy and Nars had posted the picture of Pinang and Phil online and Julian showed it to Emil and Marcy when he got home.

Emerson sang really well so they all let him do it. Nars asked Emerson to sing a love song and he chose ‘Be My Lady’. Phil enjoyed the song and he told Pinang that he would love to sing it to a special person…

That was where we ended…
