Episode 55
We started with Pinang, Nars and Miggy making their rounds
at the hospital. Meanwhile, Phil got ready to leave for the hospital after the
alarm rang and hurried to go on his date with Pinang.
During their dinner
break, the other nurses told them to be back in exactly one hour because the
head nurse was very strict. Pinang decided to share her packed food with Nars
and Miggy so that they would not have to go to the cafeteria. Miggy said that
the food would not be enough for them and insisted on having food at the
cafeteria. When they were almost there, Miggy and Nars said that they forgot
the wallets so they returned to the desk and asked Pinang to go ahead and book
a table for them.
Pinang saw Phil seated at the cafeteria the moment she went
in and was surprised that he was there. Phil smiled when he saw her and went to
greet her but Pinang asked why he was there. Phil said that he was there for
their coffee date adding that she was the one who texted him but Pinang said
she did not. She remembered Miggy borrowing her phone and then realized that it
was she who texted Phil.
Pinang called Miggy and she was not sorry about her plan.
She told Pinang to enjoy her time with Phil while she and Nars would eat the
dinner that she brought. Phil was disappointed to hear that Pinang was not the
one who texted her so he wanted to leave because he did not want to disturb
Pinang. Pinang however asked him to stay and have dinner with her and Phil was
delighted. As they ate, Phil apologized to Pinang for the prank Miggy pulled because
he could have had another appointment. Phil said that it was the best prank
ever pulled on him and if he had an appointment, he could always reschedule
because no time with her was ever wasted. He then asked if he could have dinner
with Pinang at the hospital until he returned to Singapore but before Pinang
could answer, her alarm rang. She said that her break was up and returned to
the hospital.
Phil waited for Pinang, Nars and Miggy to finish their shift
and they all went home together because Miggy’s driver picked them up. Elsa was
had made all of them Carbonara so they stayed to eat. Marcy called Pinang to
tell her that Emil would pick her up from there. Pinang and Phil were alarmed
and Phil decided to leave because he did not want Mr. Emil to misunderstand the
situation when he saw him with Pinang. He left first as Nars waited with Pinang
until Emil arrived to get her. When Pinang arrived home that evening, she saw Phil’s
letter and decided to give it to him.
As Phil trained with Julian the following morning Julian
asked if they could double up the practice in the evening but Phil said he
would only be able to do it in the morning because he had a daily appointment with
an important person until he left for Singapore.
Pinang carried Phil’s letter with her to work and Miggy and
Nars could not stop teasing her about it as they reffered to it as a love
letter. Pinang denied it and said that it was only a thank you note.
That evening, Phil went to the hospital again during the
dinner break and had dinner with Pinang. Nars and Miggy joined them but sat at
a different table. They kept gesturing for Pinang to give the letter to Phil
but when she was about to, Phil received a call from Terrence. He told Terrence
that he would be going to Singapore to surprise his mother for her birthday and
if Terrence saw Chelsea, he must not tell her anything.
Nars and Miggy returned to Pinang’s table to interrogate
Phil and asked if he would return and Phil said he was not sure. When they returned
to their shift, Miggy told Pinang to give Phil his letter before it was too
late.
Phil waited again for them to finish their shift and when
they arrived at Miggy’s place, Pinang wanted to give Phil her letter but Mackie
suddenly joined them as he was going home. Pinang shoved the letter back in her
pocket. Phil and Nars went ahead as Pinang desperately tried to explain to Mackie
that Phil had been joining them for dinner at the hospital every evening.
Mackie said that he saw nothing wrong with that. They went home together and called
Emil so that he would not have to pick up Pinang.
When Mackie and Pinang got home, Julian was still up. He told
Pinang that Phil said he would be seeing someone at 7 every evening and
wondered if he was already seeing someone else. Pinang broke into a smile while
Mackie explained to Julian that the person was Pinang. Julian shouted happily,
saying that he was rooting for both of them.
Pinang received a call from Phil later and he asked her if
she was going to give him his letter. Pinang said that the letter was for him
and Phil asked if he could have it because he was outside. Phil formed the letter
into a paper plane and flew it toward Phil who jumped happily and then went back
to Dahlia’s.
Phil was really happy as he read Pinang’s letter as she
thanked him for always taking care of her and her family; enumerating all the lovely
things he had done for them. Pinang stayed up waiting for Phil to respond and
he finally texted about how happy he was with her letter and then they wished
each other good night.
Episode 56
Pinang was feeding her ducks and talked to them, asking if
Phil’s three ducks were adjusting well. She decided to name them and called
them Ever, Lasting and Love.
During breakfast, Emil announced that they would be
harvesting the rice the following day. Pinang, Julian and Mackie all said that
they would help because they were free. Emil told Marcy that they had very good
children although they were becoming harder to manage as they grew up. Marcy pointed
out that Mackie stop him from going abroad for work while Julian insisted on
carrying out his football practice. Emil gushed about Pinang because she still
listened to them and did what they asked but Marcy asked him if he thought Pinang
was happy even if she followed what was asked of her.
Phil went to Pinang’s place to see Arsing, Badong and Roger.
He wanted to ask if they could join him at Julian’s practice because he wanted
him to learn about team work. They said that they would not be able to because
they had to stay and harvest the rice. Phil then asked to join them.
Mackie and Lotlot got jobs to go to Taiwan but when they
talked to Lotlot’s mother, she did not agree to let her daughter go abroad.
Later, one of the ducks escaped from the duck pen and Phil
picked it up. Pinang was looking for the duck, calling it ‘love’ and when she ran
into Phil, he thought that she was calling him ‘love’. Pinang explained that she
named the ducks and the one Phil was holding was love. Phil asked what Pinang
named the other ducks but she tried to avoid the question. Phil asked again so
Pinang had to say that she named them Ever, Lasting and Love and Phil broke into
a smile. Marcy and Emil saw Phil there and he desperately explained that he had
brought the ducks Arsing, Badong and Roger had given him because he could not
let them stay at Dahlia’s house. He went to return Love in the duck pen and Emil
told Marcy that Phil was only looking for an excuse to go to their house to see
Pinang. Marcy teased him by saying that he had also used the same with her when
he gave her a goat and said that he would take out to graze every day so that
he could have and excuse to see her.
Phil joined Pinang, Nars and Miggy at the hospital during
their dinner break. He and Pinang were sweet as they shared their food and were
oblivious of Nars and Miggy sitting with them as they stared at each other. Phil
left the table for a while to talk to a client and Nars and Miggy took the
chance to give Pinang a quiz to verify her feelings for Phil. Pinang ticked all
the boxes when she was asked if she woke up thinking about Phil, was sad when
she did not hear from him, among other questions. Nars and Miggy surmised that Pinang
and Phil had an ‘MU’ between them. Phil asked what that was when he got to the
table but Pinang said that their break was up and asked Nars and Miggy to go
back to work.
When Phil got home, he googled what an ‘MU’ was and the
urban dictionary said that it was a mutual understanding whereby two people had
feelings for each other and although they were not dating officially, they
behaved as if they did. Phil broke into a smile and called Pinang to ask if
they had and MU. Pinang hesitantly agreed and then told Phil to sleep because
it was late. Phil however stayed up watching videos on rice harvesting.
The following day, Emil’s family along with the workers
gathered around to distribute the work load for the harvest and Phil arrived wearing
full harvesting gear. He asked to join them but Emil was hesitant because he
was not used to it but Julian, Arsing, Badong and Roger said that they would
teach him and make sure he did not hurt himself.
Pinang was delighted seeing Phil work so hard and Marcy
teased her because she had been staring at him. They worked hard at the fields
all day and only took a break once for lunch. They then packed the rice in
sacks and Phil helped carry them. Gab was going to Pinang’s place when she saw
Phil at the fields and took pictures of him. Phil told her that they had been
harvesting and Gab went to greet Emil and the rest. She said that she was
having a farewell party since she would be leaving for Japan to study and
wanted them to be there. Since it was a camping party, Emil said that he and Marcy
were too old for it. Mackie and Julian said that they were busy so Gab settled
for Phil and Pinang. She added that she would call Nars and Miggy to invite
them.
One of the workers gushed about Phil to Marcy and told her
that he would make a good son in law because always helped Pinang and her
family and was not like other foreigners. Marcy only smiled as she watched Phil
and Pinang.
Phil was surprised when he saw that all the rice that they
had harvested had gone as Sir Emil distributed it out to pay for the debts they
had as well as the workers. Phil had 18 sacks as part of the payment too and
wanted to refuse it but Emil insisted that he take it as part of his debt
settlement.
Later, Gab posted the photos she took of Phil and they
gained thousands of likes on them. Pinang was not happy to see them on her feed
and Nars called her to tease about the jealousy Pinang must be feeling. That
was where we ended…
