Did you know Friday: Two of Dolce Amore’s stars are actually Italian!

Dolce Amore is a Kapamilya teleserye from 2016 that follows the love story of Serena, an Italian heiress and Tenten a humble boy from the slums of Tondoo in Manila.
The two are fated to fall in for each other and will have to fight against societal odds that are against them to be together.
In the serye, Serena’s Italian background  is a major part of the story line. To give authenticity to the characters, the production team of Dolce Amore set out to look for actual Italians to play the respective characters in the show.

Matteo Guidicelli as Gian Carlo De Luca

Matteo is half Filipino, half Italian and accepted the role because his grandfather had always hoped that he would play the role of an Italian. Matteo revealed that he wanted to fulfill his grandfather’s  dream which was why he agreed to take the role when it was first offered to him.

Reuben Maria Soriquez as Roberto Marchesa

Reuben is also half Filipino and half Italian. He is fluent in Italian and helped his fellow cast with their lines and corrected their grammar mistakes.

How are you liking Dolce Amore so far?
