We started with Jigs telling his friends that Leah wanted to
break up with him but he would not let her.
He argued that it took two people
to get into a relationship and it would take two people to end a relationship
as well. He insisted that they were still together.
Whe Jigs went home, he found their grandmother on a video
call with Clark. Grandma Pacita asked Jigs to say hi to Clark but Jigs only
asked Clark if his mother was around. Aunt Jack walked in then and Clark gave
her the laptop so that she could talk to Jigs. Jigs told his mother that his
girlfriend was in San Francisco and he wanted her to show her around. Miss Jack
was delighted that jigs had a girlfriend and wanted to talk more about her but
Jigs gave the laptop back to his grandmother and walked away. Grandma Pacita
told Jack not to mind Jigs and she said that she would buy him a new motor
cycle to cheer him up. Grandma Pacita not to spoil him and Aunt Jack said that
it was the only way she could show Jigs that she loved him.
Leah talked to the woman hosting
her and she got to learn that the woman had stayed in America for 18 years and
she was able to care for her family as well as educate her children. Leah confided
in her and said that her mother had migrated to America to offer them a better
life but she had died so Leah wanted to fulfill her mother’s dreams.
Later, Leah had a video chat to Tiffany, Mr. Sol and the
rest of the people at the Tenement. She told them that America was really
beautiful and she was going to extend her stay there. Mr. Sol asked her if she
already visited her mother’s grave and Leah said that she was yet to but she
would go the following day.
Cullen returned to work after his vacation from the
Philippines and he was eager to catch up with Clark and Denzel. Denzel agreed
to go out and play billiards but Clark refused saying that he had two other
jobs to attend to.
Leah and her colleagues went for their choir practice and
their teacher asked them if there was anyone who wanted to stay in America
after the competition. Leah and two others raised their hands up. Their teacher
said that it was fine for them to stay behind as long as they did not become
illegal immigrants.
When Leah left the hotel after their rehearsal, she ran into
Miss Jack outside. They were excited to meet each other and Miss Jack offered
to tour Leah around San Francisco upon Jigs’ request. They walked around the
city and visited some sights. Leah got to ride on cable cars and even saw the
famous Golden Gate Bridge. After that, Miss Jack asked to take Leah out for
shopping but Leah said that she wanted to visit the cemetery.
Clark went out for a while and saw his father. His father
ignored him and left the restaurant as soon as he saw Clark.
Clark visited his mother’s grave to tell her that he had
seen his father again and he acted as if he did not see him. We got to learn
via flash back that Leah went to the USA when he was younger to meet his
father. When they found him, Clark’s father denied him and said that he had another
family so he could not accept Clark. Clark’s mother decided to stay in the USA
and look for work so that she could support Clark but she became extremely ill
and denied.
Miss Jack took Leah to the cemetery and they walked around
for a while but they could not find Rona’s grave. They asked a worker there if
he had seen the grave stone and he told them that in all the years he had
worked there, he had never seen a grave stone with that name.
Miss Jack had to go to work in the evening so she dropped
Leah off near her hotel and left. Leah was not sure about the direction and as
she tried to figure it out, she bumped into Clark. She accused him of stealing
her wallet and harassed him. Clark told Leah that he did not steal her wallet
and as he walked away, Leah called him Jebs! Clark walked back and asked Leah what
she said. Leah said that Jebs meant ‘handsome’ in Filipino and she only meant
that he was handsome. (Jebs actually
means poop…)
As Clark was walking home, he was harassed by Baracuda; a
loan shark that he had borrowed money from. He was able to get away from Baracuda
and his thugs and he assured him that he would have his payment ready.
When Leah got to talk to Tiffany, she said that she was not
able to find their mother’s grave. She explained that she might have gone to
the wrong Cemetery but she would continue searching.
Leah and her team finally performed at the choir competition
and they came in fourth place. After the choir left, Leah wen to live with Miss
Jack because Jigs had asked his mother to help Leah in whatever she needed.
Miss Jack refused to let Leah pay for
rent but Leah said that she could not take advantage of her kindness. Miss Jack
was embarrassed to ask for money so she asked Leah to pay whatever amount she
could come up with. Miss also offered to help Leah get a job.
In the Philippines, Mr. Sol was getting of work when he had
a pain in his chest. Tolayts went to help him but he pretended that it was only
a joke. He laughed at Tolayts for being so gullible then walked away laughing.
Once he was out of sight, he held his hand to his chest with a grimace in his face.
That was where we ended…
