Episode 73
We started with Mackie having lunch with Lotlot and he told her about Monica being mad because he was assigned to help her fix a car that she had been working on.
Lotlot told Mackie to make Monica feel as if she was part of their team because she must feel left out being a mechanic in a job which was considered a male profession.
When Mackie returned to the workshop, he found Monica
dealing with a client and he immediately asked Mackie to help Monica with fixing
the car. Mackie noted Monica’s reaction so he told the client that he was lucky
to have Monica fix his car because she was the best mechanic there.
Miggy took off Phil’s needle since he would soon be discharged
and Chelsea asked her to be careful so as not to hurt Phil.
Pinang checked her watch waiting for the 7 pm break and was glad
when it was time so that she could go visit Phil before he was discharged. Doctor
Joselito watched her leave in a hurry but there was a patient who arrived then
and Pinang rushed off to attend to them.
Phil was discharged but before he could leave the hospital, he
asked Chelsea if they could pass by the ER and he could see Pinang. As they
were talking, Pinang approached them and said good bye to Phil. Phil was at ease
after seeing Pinang then left with Chelsea.
Doctor Joselito was seeing James out when he ran into Pinang
heading back. Pinang told the doctor that her friend had been discharged and
thanked him for taking care of Phil. As she went back to the hospital, James
told Joselito that they guy was only Pinang’s friend so he too could court her.
Phil and Chelsea got a taxi but they started to argue about
where they would go. Chelsea wanted them to go to a hotel but Phil said that
there was no need because his house was fine and they did not to spend any
money. Chelsea agreed to go with him to his house.
Phil was excited to show his mother around his place but
Chelsea said that he had cheap furniture. She offered to buy him new things but
Phil told her that it was fine for him and he wanted to be the one to handle
his finances. Chelsea asked where she would sleep and Phil said that she could
take the bedroom while he slept on the couch. His mother wanted Phil to take
the bed so that he could be comfortable but Phil told her that Filipino
hospitality dictated that the guest take the bedroom. Chelsea told Phil that he
was not Filipino but she agreed to take the bedroom.
When she was getting ready to sleep. She overheard Phil
talking to Terrence and Rose. Phil told them that he intended on asking Pinang
to be his girlfriend but he was afraid that she would reject him and he would
not be able to take it again. Terrence and Rose however assured Phil that Pinang
would agree to be his girlfriend.
When Pinang’s shift was up, she waited for Nars and Miggy
outside. Doctor Joselito was leaving too and he sat with her for a while. She
said that she was waiting on someone and Joselito asked if her friend was picking
her up. Pinang told him that her brother usually picked her up but she was
waiting for Nars and Miggy.
When Pinang got home, Phil called her and asked when her day
off would be because he wanted to take her out on a date. Pinang said that it
would be on a Thursday and they agreed that Phil would pick her up at 6.
In the morning, Pinang was having breakfast with her family
when Sir Emil returned with Felipa and Grandpa Apo. They had been gone for a
while and Felipa told Pinang that it was because Grandpa Apo had gotten sick
and they had taken him to the hospital. She did not want Marcy to know about it
so she asked Pinang to be the one to take care of Grandpa Apo.
Grandpa Apo called Phil and asked him to go over to the
house because he was already back. Phil had coffee with Chelsea and then they left.
Chelsea got mad when she saw that Phil drove a tricycle and even offered to buy
him a car but Phil said that it was not necessary. She refused to ride on the
bike so Phil got a tricycle instead.
When they arrived at Pinang’s house, Phil was eager to
introduce his mother to Pinang’s family but she did not seem comfortable. They
were offered breakfast, some rice and dried fish but Chelsea said that it
smelled awful. Phil told Grandpa Apo that he should visit his house since he was
not there during the house warming. He added that his house is their house too
and Chelsea gave him a look. They did not stay long because Chelsea insisted that
they leave. They gave Marcy back the dishes she had used to bring Phil his stew
and then they left.
As they went to get a tricycle, Phil reprimanded Chelsea for
being cold to Pinang’s family after they had welcomed them so warmly. They ran into Arsing and Roger and they told
Chelsea how nice Phil was because he was able to help Emil’s family keep their
farm. They argued in Portuguese about Phil lending Pinang’s family 1.5 Million
adding that they were taking advantage of him. Phil said that they were good people
and he gave them money without them asking because he got Marcy deported and he
needed to make amends. He added that it was a loan and they would pay it back. Chelsea
decided that she no longer wanted to go sight seeing and they went back to Phil’s
place.
Arsing and Roger went to greet Mr. Emil and they told him
that they had seen Phil arguing with his mother. Pinang asked what it was about
but they could not say because it was in Portuguese. They however heard the 1.5
Million comment and Emil said that they had to make it clear to Chelsea that
they would pay back Phil.
Episode 74
When they got home to Phil’s place, Chelsea’s friend came to visit. Phil said that he would go to the grocery store and left the two of them to talk.
Chelsea told her friend that she did not like Marcy’s family
because all she could see was that they were taking advantage of Phil’s generosity.
She added that if Marcy really had Phil’s best interest at heart, then she
would not have accepted the money. Her friend said that maybe Marcy accepted it
because she was desperate. She added that Chelsea had to learn how to love
Pinang too because Phil loved her otherwise she would lose her son.
Phil went to see Pinang at the hospital to apologize for his
mother’s behavior but they were not able to talk because patients came rushing
into the ER and Pinang had to attend to them. Phil left and Pinang apologized
to him later and said that they would talk during their date the following evening.
Pinang received a new schedule from the head nurse and was
told that her shift would start in the mornings. Pinang had to confirm if it
would affect her off day because of her date with Phil.
Julian and Margaret were working at the café when Miss Maira’s
bag fell on the floor and the secret love cards that Julian usually received fell
on the floor. Margaret was surprised to see them since it proved that Miss
Maira was Julian’s secred admirer. Maira walked in then and she was embarrassed
to see that her secret was out. She rushed out and Julian went after her. She
thought he would be mad at her but Julian thanked her for being a good friend
and always brightening his day with her notes. Margaret teased Julian because he
had always thought that the love notes came from her.
Phil wanted to buy something nice for Pinang so he called
Nars and Miggy to ask if he should get a bracelet or necklace. Nars said that a
necklace was better because it was closer to the heart. Phil bought a necklace
with a two-heart pendant because the seller said that it meant everlasting. He
later went grocery shopping and bought food for dinner.
When he got home, he asked Chelsea not to bring up the issue with Pinang’s family and
the two had a decent dinner. Chelsea even kept the left overs because Phil had
told her that it was not good to waste food. She however noted the expensive
gift box that Phil had brought along with him. She tried to bait Phil and asked
if they could go sight seeing the
following day and Phil said that they could go during the day because he had a
date with Pinang in the evening.
After dinner Phil called Terrence and Rose to tell them
about his dinner plans with Pinang and Terrence gave suggestions of the kind of
restaurant that he could take Pinang. He then stayed up practicing on how to give
Pinang the box that he had bought for her.
When Chelsea woke up the following morning, she found Phil
absent and decided to make him breakfast. There was nothing to cook so she decided
to go to the supermarket to buy something. She got a taxi but the driver took
her to the market instead. He asked for 20 pesos for the fare but Chelsea had
1,000 and the driver did not have any change. Marcy was at the market with Elsa
when they saw Chelsea so she paid for it instead. Chelsea thanked her but Marcy
said that it was nothing compared to the help that Phil had given them.
Chelsea attacked Marcy about taking advantage of Phil’s generosity
because of the money he had given them and Marcy told her that Phil was the one
who insisted on helping them. Chelsea told Marcy to stay away from Phil because
they already got what they wanted from him and Marcy told her that she should
talk to Phil about that and they would respect whatever decision Phil made.
Chelsea was upset and walked away.
Nars and Miggy went to see Pinang and helped her get ready.
Miggy also brought some clothes with her for Pinang to chose from and helped
her with her make up.
Phil looked stunning in a suit and he also hired a vehicle for
the date. He said goodbye to Chelsea as she slipped the necklace gift box in his
jacket and left to go get Pinang. Chelsea’s
friend asked if Phil was going to propose and Chelsea said he would not because they were not even
dating.
Pinang wore a flowered blue dress and Phil was awed when he
saw her. Emil quipped that they should just have dinner at the house and then
told Pinang that it was too soon for her to get married.
Phil took Pinang to a posh restaurant and Pinang felt out of
place but Phil told her not to worry because he would be with her. They got their
reserved table and Phil ordered for both of them because Pinang could barely pronounce
the words on the menu. That was where we ended…
