We started with Aunt Jack marking Clark’s wedding date on
the new calendar they had made for the furniture shop since it was already a
few days to the New Year.
She told Clark to finish up with their wedding
preparations already since they were already running out of time. Clark said
that he hoped Leah would have some free time after her presentation so that
they could make the final preparations.
When Clark went to pick up Leah from work, she told him
about how well her presentation went and gushed about how well things were
going for them except for her mother. Clark told her that she should think
about talking to her mother finally.
During Christmas, Aunt Jack asked Jigs if he was fine with
Clark and Leah going to the party because they would attend the Christmas
party. Jigs teased her at first but he told her that he would go out with Rico
since he was still not comfortable with seeing them together.
Leah and Clark went to the party at the tenement first and
had fun together with Leah’s family and neighbors. When they were about to
leave for Clark’s house, Clark asked Leah if she still wanted to go because
they had invited another guest; Rona. Leah was a little skeptical but she still
agreed to go.
When they arrived at Grandma Pacita’s house, Rona was about
to leave but she had to stay to speak with Leah. She immediately went to hug
Leah and asked her to help her get their family back together. The two of them
were offered the sitting room so that they could peak in private.
Rona tried to apologized to Leah for having abandoned them
and tried to explain that she had stayed
away because she felt ashamed of what she had done. Leah told her that was not
reason enough for her to choose to abandon them and make them mourn for her.
Rona could not deny to Leah that she had fallen in love with the American who had
married her so Leah told her that if the man had treated her well instead of
abusing her, then she would never have returned to them. She told her that it
was one thing to listen to her explanations but she would not be able to
forgive her. Leah ran out of the house in tears and Clark followed her to
console her. Leah asked Clark if she was a bad person for refusing to forgive
her mother and Clark told her that she had a right to feel hurt.
When Leah went back home, she told Tiffany about their
mother’s request to unite their families but Tiffany did not want to hear any
of it. Leah told Tiffany that it would not be practical for them to ignore
their mother all they lives and they would eventually have to deal with her
return; including telling their father about it.
Everyone had exchanged gifts earlier in the Christmas
celebration but Tiffany gave Tolayts his gif in private. She had teased him by
telling him that she did not have enough money to but his gift but she gave him
a figurine of the Virgin Mary that was engraved. She thanked him for always
taking care of her and Gabby and then hugged him. Tolayts was so touched; he
had to leave Tiffany and brood about her gesture by himself
New year’s eve came along and Leah went to the office to
pick up some documents before going back home for the party. She found Simon
there too and he told her that he was not with his family since his parents had
gone back to Cebu. Leah was about to leave but she felt sad for Simon and asked
him to pass by the tenement for their party. Simon smiled and asked if Leah
felt sorry for him but before she could answer, Simon’s date arrived. Simon
told Leah that they too were going for a party so Leah left.
Simon however felt bored at his party and drove to Leah’s
tenement. She was out with Clark and her neighbors lighting fireworks but Simon
did not get out of the car. He just watched them for a while and then drove
away.
In the New Year, Clark celebrated the first day of the year
with his family. They were all having a laugh when Jigs arrived and they all
went quiet. Jigs told them that he was fine and that they did not need to be
quiet. Clark approached Jigs and gave him a gift since he was not able to give
it to him during Christmas. Jigs accepted it and hugged Clark. Aunt Jack
watched both of them with a grin on her face since they were finally getting
along
After the celebrations, everyone got back to work; Clark in
his furniture shop, Jigs at the Sun and Moon café and Leah at Art Mart.
Simon called everyone in for a meeting and told them that
since most companies would be looking to create advertising campaigns in the
coming year, they all had to brace themselves for a busy time ahead.
Leah however went to ask Simon for a leave to handle some
family problems. Simon told her that he would grant her leave but she had to
learn not to let her problems affect her work since there would always be
problems. Leah therefore decided to forgo her leave and keep working.
Clark was not able to pick Leah up since he was busy with
the new Sun and Moon café. As she was about to go home, Simon’s car pulled up
right in front of her and he asked Leah to get in the car. We ended as Leah
joined Simon in the car…
