Episode 41
We started with Pinang jumping into the pool after she
realized that she was in her bikini.
Gab told Phil that she would share the
room with the girls while he and Nars took the other room. Phil agreed to the
arrangement and took the keys to go put his stuff in the room.
Pinang stayed at the pool with Nars and Miggy and she told
them that she did not want her parents to think that she was paying too much
attention to Phil and losing sight of her goals. After swimming, they went out
to dinner and Phil enjoyed the food so much, he choked on it. Pinang was quick
to take care of him and offered him something to drink. Phil asked Pinang if
she wanted to go out on a walk by the beach but Pinang said that she wanted to
sleep early. Everyone sighed and Pinang explained that she was up till late
preparing caramel custards so she wanted to rest. Phil agreed with her and said
that it was better for them to rest so that they could have enough energy the
following morning.
Pinang tried to call Marcy to tell her that they were doing
fine at the resort but the line got cut because Pinang had a poor signal. She
texted Marcy instead to tell her that Phil had decided to join them and had
arrived that evening. Marcy showed the test to Emil and he asked her to call
Pinang back. Pinang no longer had a signal so Marcy said that they would try calling her the following
morning.
Pinang could not sleep even after saying that she wanted to
rest so she woke up to eat an apple because she felt hungry. She went out of
her room to eat it and Phil who was outside too saw her. She asked him if he
wanted an apple and he said he would want one so Pinang went inside to get one.
She then joined him outside and they sat on a log to chat.
Phil thanked Pinang for making him porridge and he asked her
why he had asked Nars and Miggy not to tell him that she was the one who prepared the porridge for him.
Pinang said she did not want her actions to be misinterpreted. Phil admitted to
Pinang that he was hurt when he saw Pinang throw away the flowers but he felt better after he learnt
that she made the porridge for him. Pinang apologized for hurting Phil and
tried to explain that she wanted to prove to her parents that her priorities
were her dreams and paying off their debt. She asked Phil to wait and went back
inside the room to take the flower bud she had plucked from the everlasting
flowers. She gave it to Phil and said that she saved it to remember all the
efforts that he had exerted to get the flowers for her because she really
appreciated it. Phil was speechless after Pinang told him that so he bit into
his apple. Pinang told him not to be careful so he would not choke again. Phil
said that it was time they went to sleep because he could rest easy.
In the morning, Phil got breakfast for everyone. He then
rented out kayak and water bikes so that
they could all enjoy some activities around the beach. He went swimming later
and Pinang along with Nars and Miggy could not help but notice his toned body.
Pinang ran off to the room because Nars and Miggy kept teasing her. Phil went
to ask where Pinang went and they asked him when he was going to start courting
her. Phil said that he intended to but Pinang’s mood was all over the place and
he was not sure if she would accept his advances. Nars and Miggy assured Phil
that Pinang would say yes and explained that Pinang felt confused because Phil
did not make his intentions clear. They therefore encouraged him to tell Pinang
that he liked her.
Emil accompanied Marcy to the market to buy stuff to cook
food for a party that Marcy had been hired for. The woman at the market told
them how lucky they were because Phil was being courted by a foreigner and they
would have a better life soon. Emil and Marcy got offended and they told the
woman that if Pinang and Phil got together, it would be because they were in
love and not for the money.
Julian asked advise from Mackie about how to know if a girl
liked him and Mackie said that if she got jealous then she really liked him.
That evening, Phil took the chance to ask Pinang if he could
court her. He said that he liked how strong she was and cared for her family
but Pinang asked him not to butter up his words. Phil said that everything he
said was the truth but they were interrupted by one of Phil’s flings from
Singapore who was also on vacation. She was drunk and flung herself on Phil but
he avoided her. She asked if Pinang was his girlfriend but Pinang said no. Phil
said he hoped Pinang was his girlfriend and the girl asked if Phil was in love
with her. Phil said yes and the girl decided to leave.
Phil asked Pinang if he could court her and she asked him why. Phil said that it was because he was in
love with her!
Episode 42
Pinang smiled at Phil, looked this way and that way then
said ‘excuse me’ and ran off! Phil was left confused about what Pinang said and
went to sulk by the beach alone because he did not know what to make of it.
Pinang ran to Nars and Miggy and told them what happened
adding that she was taken by surprise and did not know how to respond. They
laughed hard at Pinang then told her that Phil might have mistaken what she
said and might have thought that she rejected him.
Gab was out jogging when she saw Phil alone by himself and
asked what happened to him. Phil told him what Pinang said and she told him
that he should just give her time because she had not exactly rejected him.
They went back to join Pinang, Nars and Miggy. They asked to join in the game
of cards that Nars and Miggy were playing but Pinang ran off to her room and
said that she had to sleep.
Pinang paced late into the night as she thought about Phil
and Miggy had to ask her to be quiet so that they could sleep. In the morning,
they all got in Gab’s car so and left to go back to San Isidro.
They stopped over on the way for a break and Phil went to
get some water as the rest went to the bathroom. Pinang was finally able to
call Marcy and tell her that they were on their way back. Emil talked to Pinang
and asked if Phil had made his move and Pinang said that she still had her
priorities set.
Phil bought water for everyone and then purchased a car
pillow so that Pinang would be comfortable. He handed the rest their water
bottles then opened Pinang’s. He then put the pillow he had bought on her so
that she could be comfortable. Pinang smiled at him and thanked him as he
opened the car door for her.
Later, Gab said she was tired so Phil said he would drive
because he had an international driving license. When he went over to the front
seat, he got out a jumper and gave it to Pinang to wear in case she felt cold
on the way.
Julian continued to receive the anonymous love notes and he told Margaret that he would respond to them. He then looked at her and said that he wished they were from her.
Gab dropped everyone home and then went home herself. Pinang
seemed happy and jovial and told her family that it was because of vitamin sea.
She went inside to pack and could not help but feel giddy about Phil’s jumper
which she still had with her. Phil texted her about what he had asked and said
that he would be patient and wait for
her answer. Pinang texted back and said that it was okay.
In the morning, Marcy asked Pinang whether something happened
with Phil and Pinang admitted that he asked if he could court her. Marcy asked
what Pinang said and she told him about the ‘excuse me’ answer. Marcy laughed and
said she was glad that Pinang was finally getting to experience being in love.
She then asked if Phil had a chance with her and Pinang went quiet. Marcy told
her that if she was not interested in him, she could have just told him ‘No’
like she did with Vincent.
Phil also told the ‘excuse me’ story to Dahlia and Arthur
and they too encouraged him. Arthur told Phil to look out for signs from Pinang
that showed she was interested in him; like if she started to put more effort
in her appearance so that she could look more beautiful. Phil said that there
was no way Pinang would see more beautiful in his eyes.
The following day, Phil wore a nice shirt to go feed his
ducks and everyone asked him where he was going. Pinang also took special care
with her hair. She met up with Nars and Miggy so that they could apply for a
course with the red cross and they ran into Phil. Miggy asked if Phil was going
on a date because he looked smart and Phil took the opportunity to ask Pinang
out. Pinang said that they had to go to the redcross so she could not make it
and Phil agreed to ask her another time.
Marcy told Emil about Phil asking Pinang out and asked him
not to worry about the rumors going on that they were taking advantage of Phil
since they knew the truth.
Phil went to the duck pen and got teased by his workers. He
received a call from Terrence and Rose and he told them that he would be going
to Manila to see a client he had approached about designing a website for them.
Pinang, Nars and Miggy got back home and found that one of
the ducks had gotten out of the pen. They rushed to get it back inside only to
find an everlasting rose on the entrance. Nars and Miggy told Pinang that it
had to be for her since she was the only one in the entire San Isidro who liked
everlasting flowers. Pinang said that she did not want to assume that Phil had
left it for her and we ended as she smelt the flower and smiled…
