BE MY LADY Episode 51 & 52

Episode 51

We started with Pinang, Nars and Miggy at the hospital for their interviews.
They talked to one of the nurses who worked there and she gave them some tips about doing the interview there. The three of them were interviewed by a grumpy doctor who did not give them any hopes that they might get hire so they went back home sulking.
Julian had not yet arrived home when Marcy made dinner so she asked Pinang to go get him from training. Pinang went with Nars and Miggy to get Julian. When they arrived at the training field, they saw Julian and Phil training. Gab was there too but she was busy taking photos of Phil! Pinang called out Julian and told him that it was time to go home. When Gab heard Pinang, she hurriedly put her Phone in her pocket.
Julian apologized to Pinang for playing until late and Phil tried to explain that they would ease up on Julian’s training after the try outs. Pinang said Julian would not train the following day because he had to catch up on the studies that he had been failing. Phil tried to reason with her and tell her that Julian was old enough and she should not be too strict on him. Pinang seemed upset as she told Julian that they should go home because Phil and Gab would be going together and then walked away. They left with Nars and Miggy who teased Pinang about being jealous.
Phil was confused by Pinang’s behavior so he called Grandpa Apo who was on vacation and told him about the incident. Grandpa Apo explained to Phil that since Pinang was Julian’s older sister, she had a right to guide him. He therefore asked Phil to apologize to Pinang and the matter would be settled. Phil decided to write a letter to Pinang instead.
Nars and Miggy called Pinang later that evening to talk to her about Gab taking photos of Phil. Miggy pointed out that Gab usually liked to take photos to post on social media but she had  not posted the photos she took of Phil which meant that she was storing them in her phone for personal consumption. After that, Pinang went through Gab’s Instagram feed hoping to see pictures of Phil but Gab never posted any.
As Gab was driving home, she went through the photos she took of Phil and asked herself why she was falling for Phil.
The following morning, Gab went to Pinang’s and asked to hang out there because she was bored at home. Marcy made her breakfast while Pinang quietly made her caramel custards.
Phil arrived early at the duck pen with Pinang’s letter hoping that Badong, Arsing and Roger could help him translate it to Filipino. They were not able to do it since they were not good in English so they suggested that Gab do it for him.
When Badong went to fetch water for the ducks, he told Gab that Phil wanted to speak to her and Gab rushed off to see what he wanted from her. Pinang watched as Phil gave Gab the letter and she gushed about how sweet it was when she read it as she leaned into Phil. They sat down to translate it and they were super close to each other. Pinang could hardly concentrate on the custards she was making as she watched them and ended up burning most of them.
Julian’s football tryouts were held and he was very impressive on the pitch as Margaret and other students watched. One of the players wanted to challenge Julian by stopping his goal but Julian was able to score regardless. He made the first cut for the try outs and Margaret congratulated him.
Phil tried to give the letter to Pinang once he and Gab were done translating but she was dismissive and Emil interrupted them so he ended up putting it back in his pocket. Pinang left to deliver her caramel custards while Phil went back to the duck pen.
After delivering the caramel custards, Pinang called Nars who was with Miggy. They what Phil had done and Pinang told them about him giving Gab a letter. They said they would meet her at her house and threatened to confront Phil but Pinang made them swear that they would not tell Phil about it.
Phil spoke to Pinang when she got back home and apologized for not understanding that Julian also had to focus on his studies. They agreed to come up with a schedule for Julian so that he would be able to balance his studies and football practice. Since Nars and Miggy were already there, Phil was not able to give his letter to Pinang and returned to the duck pen.
That evening, Julian came back with the good news that he was able to make the try outs and outline all the benefits he would be getting if he managed to make it to get picked.

Episode 52

Phil continued to train Julian since there were other cut offs for the football tryouts but Julian seemed a little tired. Phil advised Julian to keep his training consistent so that he could keep getting better.
At school, Margaret noticed that Julian seemed sickly and offered her notes to him because he was not able to make any during class. Some girls approached them and asked if they were a couple. They both said no as Margaret explained that they were just friends. The girls were delighted hearing that Julian was single and available. They said that they watched his football try outs and he was really good, then asked to take a picture with him. Margaret was given their phones and asked to take pictures of them with Julian.
Mackie went to check on his overseas application and learnt that he passed but he had not been selected for the job. The man from the agency however told him that his name would be listed and he would be considered for the next job.
The following morning, Marcy and Emil noticed that Julian looked a little pale. Marcy asked that Julian stay home but Julian said he had an important test so he could not skip school but he would go home early since it was his day off from De Luna’s.
At school, Julian had a hard time during the test as his fever got worse. He was able to complete it but he collapsed as soon as he handed it in.
Emil passed by the duck pen and gave Phil a number from a teacher who worked with Marcy. He said that the lady wanted to buy 25 ducks from him and asked that he call her to discuss the order.
Terrence called Phil and he said that he had ran into his mother in town. Phil asked if she asked about him and Terrence said that he only told her that Phil was still in the Philippines.
Chelsea complained to her husband about Phil being in the Philippines for the past three months . Her husband suggested that they go to San Isidro to surprise him  but she refused.
Phil tried again to give Pinang the letter but they were interrupted when Pinang received a call from Julian’s school to tell her that Julian was sick and had collapsed in the class room. Pinang was alarmed and Phil offered to go with her to see Julian when she told him about it.
At school, Pinang talked to Margaret and she said that Julian seemed a little too tired because he had been training too hard for football. Julian hurriedly woke up because he did not want to seem too sickly. Phil asked why he did not tell him that he had not been feeling well and Julian apologized. The school nurse told Pinang that Julian only needed some rest and gave her his medicine.
Phil helped Julian out of school and as they were leaving, they ran into one of Julian’s lecturers who told him that he had to submit a project so that he would not fail in that subject. Phil and Pinang then took him home and asked him to rest in Granpa Apo’s room.
Emil thanked Phil after her learnt that she was the one who went with Pinang to get Julian. He asked about the duck order so Phil decided to call the woman. He apologized to her saying that the ducks had been bought by another client so he did not have any to sell.
Phil then went to talk to Pinang and found her making porridge for Julian. He seemed excited so Pinang said that she would get him some once she was done making it. Phil asked Pinang not to worry about Julian because it was normal to be exhausted and he would be better after some rest so that they could resume training. Pinang however told him that Julian would have to stop with the football training because it was not good for his health and was messing with his studies as well. She added that Phil might be wasting his time too while he could be doing other things and this threw Phil off. He told Pinang that he enjoyed training Julian and Julian enjoyed it as well but Pinang cut him off and told him to STOP IT!
Phil took offense and walked away without saying anything else. He was upset and hurt by Pinang’s curt words and the moment he got in the duck pen, he called back the client to tell her that there were ducks available because his previous client had cancelled. When Badong, Arsing and Roger went to get a carton to pack the ducks, Pinang gave them some porridge and plus an extra bowl for Phil. When they gave Phil the porridge, he said that he was full and refused to eat it. Pinang cried when she saw that he did not take the porridge realizing that she had hurt him.
Emil joined Pinang and she poured him some porridge under the guise to hide her tears. She also asked him to speak to Phil because he seemed sad about having to sell his ducks.
Emil talked to Phil for a while and Phil asked if he would be happy once Phil returned to Singapore. Emil said that it would not be the case because they had learnt to care about him as part of their family but as a parent one had to learn to let children go so that they could achieve more important things. Phil cried as they talked and told Emil that he was glad to finally had a father to advise him after being separated from his father back in Brazil.
Gab arrived to go to training with Julian and Phil but she was told Julian was sick and could not make it. She therefore went inside to speak to him.
Julian was mad at Pinang for telling him to quit football but he did not want to. As he rested, Pinang discussed this with the rest of the family and Mackie said that Julian would only get upset with them if they stopped him from pursuing his dream. They decided to take a vote on it; Marcy and Pinang voted for him to stop while Mackie and Emil voted for him to continue. They texted GrandPa Apo to break the tie and he said that Julian should continue. Julian was glad to hear the news that he would continue with his football.
Phil only had 33 ducks left so he decided to give them to Arsing, Badong and Roger who cried because it meant that Phil would be returning to Singapore. We ended as Phil hugged the three of them…
