The tales of the
unexpected is a Chinese drama top billed by Chinese actress Liu Tao. The drama revolves around her
character Renee and her family.
Renee is a married woman who is focused on advancing her
career so she and her husband Evin put off having kids for three years although
they have already been married for three years. Renee also has an older brother
called Lipton and a younger sister called Holly.

Lipton lives with his parents along with his wife Sophie.
Although the couple has been married for five years, they are not able to bare
children and it becomes difficult for the couple to cope since Lipton’s parents
want a grandchild. Lipton’s mother, Jakie is especially keen on having grandchildren
that she even advices Lipton to get another wife.
The youngest daughter Holly is in college and has a
boyfriend Murphy. Murphy plans on moving to America to advance his studies so
he asks Holly to go with him so that they can remain together. Something
drastic will however happen and throw dust to all their plans.
The drama airs every week day evening on Startimes Sino Drama (Channel #58) at 8 pm and is quite
different from what we are used it by virtue of it being a Chinese Drama. It
also addresses family issues of marriage and love with a light touch to it. It
never gets heavily dramatic so you always have a chance to breath and have a
laugh.
