We started with Simon driving Leah home and she asked him if
he was mad at her for the presentation earlier.
Simon told her that it was
nothing personal so he had no reason to be mad at her. Leah told him that maybe
it was better to let somebody else do the presentation. Simon asked her if she
was giving up and Leah told him that she just did not want them to lose the
account. Simon told her that he wanted her to see everything through to the
end. When Simon’s car pulled up, the guys at the neighborhood were impressed so
they wanted to see who had been brought home. They were surprised to see Leah
get out of the car and Simon told her that he knew where to send is driver if
she did not answer his calls.
As Simon drove away, Leah explained to Tolayts that the guy
was her boss and he had only brought her home because she had difficulty
getting a ride.
The following day, Rona went to the designer who was making
Leah’s gown and Clark’s suit and paid for both of them fully. When took Leah
home from work, Mama Lulu stopped them and asked them why they had not told him
that they would pay in full for their clothes. Leah and Clark said that they
were not the ones who had paid for them and it might have been a mistake.
Clark called Rona later to ask if she was the one who paid
for their clothes and she admitted it. When Clark saw Leah the next time, he
told her that he knew the person who had paid for their clothes and it was her
mother. Leah asked him how Rona had known and Clark told her that he had been
speaking to her. Leah demanded that Clark stop speaking to her mother because
she had no business intruding in their lives but Clark tried to tell her that
Rona was only trying to reach out and she should give her a chance to explain
things to her. They were arguing loudly then and Mr. Sol heard them.
They were arguing outside so Mr. Sol went to ask them not to
argue in public and Clark had to hug Leah to him so that she would keep quiet.
Mr. Sol asked them what they were arguing about but they both kept quiet. He
concluded that it was about the wedding plans and asked them not to let the
stress get to them. After he left, Leah asked Clark to tell her mother to take
back her payment.
Clark therefore spoke to Rona and asked her to withdraw her
payment and he would be the one to pay for the clothes instead.
Tiffany asked Leah what she and Clark had really been
fighting about and Leah told her that their mother was back in the Philippines
and wanted to see them.
Leah had a practiced presentation with Simon and did a
little better than before. Simon however said that she looked scared and Leah
admitted that she was scared. Simon asked her not to show it during the
presentation. He also commented on her slogan about showing the hotel’s hospitality
“The Filipino way” and asked Leah to change it to include a worldwide campaign.
Leah did not agree with him since the marketing campaign was focused on
Filipino hospitality but agreed to change it for Simon’s sake.
Jigs finally recovered and took his mother’s advice to apply
for a job at the sun and moon café. He was interviewed by Angela who was
impressed by his resume and gave him the job. When he got back home, he teased
Aunt Jack that he was not able to get the job because he was annoyed and talked
back at the employer. Aunt Jack was appalled and started telling him about how
someone should be humble and chaming while in an interview. She went on and on
until Jigs had to tell her that he was joking and he already got the job. Aunt
Jack was really happy for him.
After Clark picked Leah from work, both of them apologized
to each other for the previous argument about Rona. Clark however told Leah
that she should listen to her mother’s side of the story. He went ahead to tell
her how her mother had gotten into an arrangement to get money for her
treatment since she had been really sick and told her all the things that Rona
went through while she was in America.
Leah’s time to present finally came and Clark gave her a
kiss at the office to try and calm her down but they were interrupted by Simon
who appeared and they had to separate to let him through.
At the presentation, Simon introduced Leah as one of his
best employees and she gained a lot of confidence from his trust in her. She
gave a wonderful presentation but when she was almost through, the power went
out. She seemed nervous but Simon gestured for her to relax so Leah took a
breath and finished the presentation confidently by including the “Filipino
way” slogan instead of the way Simon had asked her to say it. The client was
very impressed and told Simon that the
contracts would be drawn up to commence with the campaign. Simon gave Leah all
the credit and congratulated her on going with what she thought was best.
The rest of the coworkers were jealous of Simon’s fondness
for Leah and they started talking of how she must be flirting with him so as to
get favors. They even empathized with her fiancé and Leah was unfortunate
enough to hear this.
Simon went to speak to Leah when he found her sulking and
asked her what was wrong. Leah asked if he could assign someone else to her to
ward off the gossip in the office but Simon told her not to let anything affect
her because she would fail. That was where we ended…
