Episode 37
We started with Julio trying to calm Alex after she found
out that Seb was only her half-brother.
Julio asked her if she wanted him to
help her find her birth mother and Alex said that she did not want him to
because her mother gave her away. She said that from then on, Julio and their child
would be her only family. She also begged Julio to help her win her case because
she did not want to go back there. They met with their lawyer and Julio asked
him to make sure that Alex wins the case so that they could travel. Since Alex
could not attain a passport with her birth certificate, the lawyer said that he
would take care of getting Alex a new birth Certificate.
Seb’s lawyer visited the family to tell them that he had already
prepped Dina on how to give her testimony in court. Laura was afraid that Alex
could try to escape but the lawyer said that Alex could not travel with a
pending case against her. Seb also told them that Alex would not be able to
travel and revealed that Alex was not his real sister.
The festivities for Christmas were just around the corner
and everyone prepared for Alex’s hearing. When the day of the courtroom came,
Alex had a verbal exchange with Seb and his family. She told them that she
would win the case and that they would pay for trying to destroy her life. Seb
asked Alex to surrender and he would help her and her child but Alex said that
she would not do it because she would win the case.
When the case commenced, Dina took to the stand and admitted
to kidnapping Isabella. She said that she could not target Isabella because
Kara was not rich then so they would not have been able to pay for the ransom. They
lawyer asked why she had done it and she said that she got paid to do it by
Alex because she harbored a grudge against Kara for having taken away Seb’s
affection for her.
Julio’s lawyer tried to discredit Dina’s testimony by saying
that she had been jailed before for theft among other crimes so she might have
been lying even then. Dina said that she was trying to change her life and that
was the reason why she had come forward to tell the truth.
Julio also took to the stand and revealed that he was Dina’s
boss but they had an affair together. He said that Dina was only upset because
he had broken up with her to be with Alex.
After the trial, everyone was upset because Dina had not
told them about her relationship with Julio and it would seem as if she was
only jealous of Alex. Alex gloated about the upper hand they now held before
she left with Julio to celebrate at home.
Since Dina had already confessed to being the one who
kidnapped Isabella, her lawyer was able to win the appeal and Sara was released
from jail! Kara and Laura had been in jail to visit her when she received the
good news and they went home with her. Becca and the rest of the family were
delighted to see Sara had been frees.
Sara was given Alex’s room and Kara urged her to stay with
them for Becca’s sake and because they had to be together to fight against
Alex.
Meanwhile, Alex was furious when she learnt about Sara’s
release because she thought that she would be convicted. Julio told her to calm
down because he would make sure that she would not be convicted.
On the next hearing, Seb, Kara, Sara and Dina all went to
the stand to testify against Alex. When Alex took the stand, she said that she
knew Dina from prison and had met up with her to catch up after both of them
had been released. She said that Dina took the initiative to kidnap Isabella
after everything that Alex had told her about her family but she was not the
one who paid her. She took the blame for telling Dina about her family and
apologized to Kara and Seb.
When the judge finally delivered his verdict, he ruled that
Alex was not guilty of the crime of kidnapping Isabella Acosta. Julio and Alex
were overjoyed for winning the case while Kara and her entire family were
outraged.
Dina and Alex had an exchange in the bathroom as Dina told
Alex not to get too comfortable because she still had an ace to use against
her. She reminded Alex about killing Ishmael and Alex dared Dina to reveal the
truth because she too would be convicted for helping her finish off Ishmael.
As Alex was leaving the court room, she ran into Seb and he
told her that she never treated him as a sibling so he was not obligated to do
the same for her. He said that he would make sure that Alex paid for what she
had done to his family.
Since Alex had been freed, Seb’s lawyer advised for them to
file a motion for retrial and have the case heard once again. Arellano said
that he would also help them with the investigation and get Alex convicted.
It was finally Christmas and everyone at Seb’s house was
upset because Alex had been released. Laura asked to forget about their
problems and enjoy their holiday together. Sara also said that they had more to
celebrate so they should focus on that instead.
Episode 38
Julio showed Alex pictures of a house that he had bought in
America as a Christmas gift. He said that he bought it because he knew that she
would like it and they could move into it any time. Before dinner, Julio said
that the house was not his actual gift and gave Alex another box. When she
opened it, there was a ring inside and Julio asked Alex to marry him for the
sake of their child and it was also the right time since they had already won
the case.
After the festivities were over, Dina disappeared and no one
knew where she was. Sara was worried that Julio’s people might have found her.
Arellano said that they were looking for Dina and hoped to find her.
Julio however did not know where Dina was as well and his
lawyer called to tell him that she had run away from the case that they had filed
against her.
Alex met with a wedding planner and already started planning
for a wedding because they would be married in a week. She demanded to have an
elegant gown even when there were time constraints and said that they would pay
for everything. Julio was also able to book the church that Alex wanted and she
was delighted. They agreed to tell Patricia about their wedding that evening.
Arellano was determined to get evidence against Alex and
Julio and he was able to find out that Julio had tampered with the CCTV footage
in the Travel Agency the day that Barbara’s investigator was shot. They had
used the video as an alibi to prove that Julio was at his office during the incident
but the video clearly showed that it was not true.
Arellano showed the video to Kara and her family and said
that they needed more evidence to convict Julio. He said that they needed to
get hold of Julio’s gun to prove that it was used to shoot Dina as well as the Diego;
investigator.
Paulo called Patricia after Arellano’s visit and updated her
on everything that he had learnt. Sara heard him and learnt that Julio had a
gun. Kara saw her leaving the house and said that she would go to Julio’s house
to get the gun herself. Kara told Sara that they should tell Arellano so that
he could attain the gun legally and asked her not to do it. Sara however left
the house and said that she was going to the club for work.
When Sara got outside, she ran into Edward and tried to lie
to him that she was going to Club Felicidad. Edward offered to drive her there
but when he learnt that Sara was out to look for evidence against Alex, he
offered to go with her.
Julio and Alex left the house to go to the hospital for the checkup
while Patricia left for school. Edward and Sara waited for them to leave and Edward
went to distract Patricia’s Nanny so that Sara could get into the house.
Patricia forgot her reviewer at home and went back home
because Alex had to get to the clinic on time. She went back using a cab and
when she got into the house, she found Sara snooping around the house. Sara
told Patricia that she was not a bad person and was only there to get evidence
against Julio and Alex. She told Patricia that Julio and Alex had destroyed her
life and begged Patricia to help her. She asked Patricia to help her get Julio’s
gun and stop him from hurting more people. Patricia however did not give her
the gun. Sara told Edward later that she had a feeling about Patricia being
different and hoped that she would help her.
When Alex went to her clinic visit, the doctor said that she
had a delicate pregnancy but would pull through with the right medication. She
however discouraged her from flying because the doctor needed to monitor her.
Banjo went to Kara’s house to look for Sara since she had
not gone to the club. Kara realized that Sara went to Julio’s house to get the
gun.
Patricia was worried about what Sara asked her and called
Paulo to ask for his advice because she did not want to have her brother go to
jail. Paulo told Patricia that she should give the gun to the police so that
they can learn the truth.
When Sara got home, Kara confronted her for going to Julio’s
house and said that she was only causing more problems for them. She asked Sara
whether she had not yet learnt a lesson after everything they had been though
and Sara said that she was sorry for failing to kiss Kara’s feet to show how grateful
she was to her. We ended as Laura joined them as asked them what was going on…
