The car that Claudia and Caloy had ridden in exploded.
Angelo was on his way to the airport to see Yna but there
was a lot of traffic and he could hardly move. With only 30 minutes left, he
got out of his car and ran the rest of the way to the airport.
Yna and Amor arrived at the airport and checked in.
As soon Angelo arrived at the airport, he started to call
out Yna’s name. His phone rang and it was Liya. Angelo was about to tell her to
call him some other time but she said that their mother was dead!
The police apparently recovered the bodies of Claudia, Diego
and Caloy in the exploded vehicle.
Angelo went with Liya to identify the bodies and the police
showed them the things that they had recovered from the vehicle. Liya
recognized their mother’s phone and was inconsolable after because she
confirmed that it was Claudia.
Amor and Yna did not leave after the news of Caloy’s death
and Yna accompanied Belen to identify Caloy’s body. Amor helped Yna and her
family and paid for Caloy’s funeral. Yna thanked her but said that she would
not be leaving for America for the sake of her family.
Eduardo was taken to Claudia’s wake under police escort and
was able to console his children. Angelo went to him when he saw him but Liya
was a little reserved. She heard the women at the funeral gossiping and they
were saying that Eduardo had already left Claudia for Amor even before the
accident.
Angelo saw Yna at the funeral area where they also held
Caloy’s wake. He said that he was sorry to her for insisting that she love him
and not understanding her position. He added that he now understood why the two
of them would never be together.
After the funeral, Amor, David and Betty Mae left for the
US.
Angelo and Liya were thrown out of their house and had
nothing with them. Leonora offered Angelo a job as a clerk at Buena Corp but
Angelo rejected it because she humiliated him.
Meanwhile, some children attacked Liya at school and she
fought back so she was expelled from the school. She was devastated and even
wished that she was the one who died. She cried and asked Angelo to leave Punte
Verde because everything there reminded her of their parents.
Angelo and Liya moved away to a small place in the slums and
Angelo said that they would start over. He was optimistic and told Liya that
everything would work out fine and they would move to a better place. Angelo
took up a job as a dish washer for a meager salary and also took care of Liya.
He cooked, cleaned her clothes and prepared her for school.
Liya was depressed because of how their lives had changed
and one morning while going to school, a
car hit her because she was not paying attention to the road. Angelo had to
leave work to take care of her and the situation put him to the breaking point
as well. He was out getting food for Liya when he collapsed in the middle of
the street. A man went to help him as well as
the people around the street.
Two years later, Angelo was all dressed up and managed to
sneak into an exclusive club to see the owner called Andrew Garcia. When he got
to the VIP area, he tried to help a young man who was being harassed just
because he was a stammer. Unfortunately, the person that he attacked was Andrew
Garcia and he had Angelo escorted out of
the club by his body guards. Angelo begged him to listen to what he had to say
but Andrew did not care to.
We ended as Angelo was thrown out of the club…
