Episode 17
We started with Pinang asking Phil why he was leaving eggs
in her duck pen. Phil said that he had too many of them and did not know what
to do with them.
Pinang told him that she would pay him for the eggs that he
left there because he should not be giving them to her. Phil agreed and then
asked Pinang if they could go back to being friends. Pinang nodded and went
inside to get the money.
Later that morning,
Marcy asked Pinang who she had been talking to earlier and Pinang told her that
it was Phil and she had found out that he was the one who had been leaving duck
eggs while all along she thought that her ducks were really healthy.
Marcy told Emil about the incident and he told her that
maybe Phil only wanted to help Pinang so that she would not have to buy eggs
for her custard desserts. Marcy said that Phil might be courting her but Emil
said that he was not worried because Pinang did not welcome any suitors. Mackie
heard them and he was not happy to hear that Phil was getting slick with his
sister. He talked to the guys that Phil worked with and asked them to prank
him.
The guys taught Phil a song to entertain the ducks but one
of the ducks escaped when Phil was performing. He went after it and it went
into Pinang’s house. Pinang found him there and he made her laugh when he sang
the song to the duck. He was able to catch the duck and leave the house and
Pinang was laughing out loudly. Mackie was irritated because Pinang looked
happy being with Phil but Pinang said that there was a difference between
laughing and being happy.
The following morning, Phil ran into Pinang as she was
waiting for a tricycle and he told her that he would be selling his first batch
of eggs that day. Pinang did not pay attention to him and when she finally got
a ride, Phil said that nothing had changed from the first time they met; she
still looked beautiful. Pinang got flustered and hurriedly got in her tricycle.
After that, Phil collected the eggs from the duck pen and
Emil showed him how to grade the eggs according to size. Emil asked Phil if his
business in Singapore was okay since he was staying there and Phil explained to
him that as long as he had his laptop and a good connection, he could still run
his business.
Pinang went to the city with Nars and Miggy to have her
passport details taken. She asked them to send it to her once it was ready and
Miggy told her that her family might find out about her plans to go abroad.
Pinang said that she could not continue lying to them and she would have to
tell them the truth once they found out.
As they were going home, Pinang pretended to be asleep and
she listened to Miggy and Nars talking about Phil. Nars was telling Miggy not
to be too infatuated by Phil because it was clear he was interested in Pinang because
of all the effort he put in pleasing her. Miggy said it was not true because Pinang
did not like him.
Phil went to the market with the eggs he collected and he
managed to sell all his eggs and gain a
lot of new customers. He ran into the little boy who usually bought the broom
sticks from Grandpa Apo and he helped him sell his stock. The boy talked to
Phil about how hard his mother worked to take care of him because his father
left them. A rose vendor sold them some roses and Phil bought all of them. He gave
them to the boy and asked him to take them to his mother but the boy took only
three. He asked Phil to give the rest to his mother as well but Phil told him
that his mother was far away. He then suggested that Phil give them to his
girlfriend.
The workers also sold the eggs they had brought and they saw
Phil smelling the roses he had bought. They immediately concluded that Phil
bought them for Pinang.
Episode 18
Phil returned to the farm to pay the workers and left.
Pinang returned from the city with Nars and Miggy and they
went to Pinang’s place to review for their bar exams that were drawing near.
When they got to the hut, there were flowers and a note and it was for Pinang. The
note asked her to be happy and not to worry too much. Vincent arrived for the
study session but he denied having left the flowers there.
Emil was briefing the guys about their new harvest season
when they saw Pinang and they all went to tell her that Phil was the one who
left the flowers because they had seen Phil with them at the market.
Pinang collected all the roses and stormed out; Nars and Miggy
in tow. They went to Dahlia’s house and Nars texted Phil to go outside. Once
Phil was outside, Pinang handed back the flowers and told him that he was not
interested and that she was happy taking care of her family. Phil tried to tell
her that he was not the one who left the flowers but Pinang told him to stop
lying. Mum Dahlia went out of the house to greet them and she showed off the
flowers that Phil had bought for her. Phil gave her the flowers to thank her
for giving him a home and taking care of him. She had told him that it was
necessary and that she could have given the flowers to Pinang but Phil told her
that he did not want to make the situation with Pinang’s family uncomfortable.
Pinang was thoroughly embarrassed and Miggy who had felt bad
earlier was happy to know that it was not Phil who left the flowers. Pinang
apologized to Phil and was about to run off but Phil stopped her and gave her
the flowers back.
Pinang did not study when they got back home and went to
bury her embarrassment in bed. She however had to explain to her parents that
it was a misunderstanding and Phil did not leave the flowers. Miggy also went
home and Nars was left studying with Vincent. Nars was convinced that Vincent
was the one who left the flowers but he continued to deny it. He however asked
Nars what kind of flowers Pinang liked and Nars said that she liked sun
flowers.
In the morning, Phil gathered up Pinang’s family to explain
to them that it was a misunderstanding and Pinang said that she already told
them. She hurriedly dismissed him because she was still embarrassed.
As Pinang was driving out to take her Custard desserts to De
Luna’s she told Emil she was leaving. He waved her good bye and Phil did the
same as he was helping Emil with something. Emil watched Phil and after Pinang
was gone, he told Phil that he could smile and wave at the girls in the town
but not Pinang.
As Mackie was heading out to deliver his mother’s lunches,
Lotlot called and asked him what he would be doing all day. Mackie said he had
to deliver food for his mother then check his email to see if he had any
replies to the jobs he had applied to. Lotlot got mad because he had forgotten
something and hang up on him. Mackie finally remembered that it was their
anniversary and tried to call back but Lotlot hang up again!
Mackie accompanied his mother to school and he told her that
he had forgotten their anniversary. Marcy told him to make it up to her and
offered to give him some money for him to do something for Lotlot but Mackie
refused to accept it.
The head teacher at Marcy’s school noticed that a lot of
people liked her food so she offered to give Marcy a stall there rent free. She
however had to give 10% of the earnings to the school and Marcy said that she
would think about it.
Pinang was preparing to go to the hospital when she heard
Mackie talking to Lotlot on the phone but she hang up on him again. Emil heard
it too and forcefully gave Mackie some money to do something nice for Lotlot.
Mackie felt embarrassed but Emil asked him not to be because he usually spent
all his salary on them.
When Pinang arrived at the hospital, she told Nars and Miggy
about Mackie’s situation and she felt bad because she knew Mackie would not
accept any money from her. Someone delivered sunflowers for her and Pinang was
happy to receive them. She rushed out of there and went to Lotlot’s house. She
called Mackie and he said he was going to see Lotlot so Pinang dropped the
flowers on the gate and hid.
Phil was riding back home after selling all his eggs from
the market when he saw Pinang. He got off his bike and hid behind a car to see
what she was up to.
When Mackie arrived, he was puzzled to see the flowers and
picked them up. Lotlot was delighted to see him with flowers when she opened
the gate and Mackie accepted the hug she gave him looking confused but he saw
Pinang and she gave him a thumbs up. Mackie realized that it was Pinang who had
left the flowers there. He smiled at her as he hugged Lotlot back and we ended
as Phil watched the scene…
