KeMPhi Awards 2016!

This years has seen Kenyans enjoy the best of Filipino entertainment from the biggest production houses in The Philippines; ABS-CBN and GMA courtesy of KTNKenya. We saw four Telesyres exclusively premier on KTN these being Two Wives, Losing  Heaven, Forevermore and My Destiny.


In light of this, KeMPhi decide to have our own awards to celebrate the above named shows and learn just which show Kenya loved the most. We were able to come up with five distinct categories that had a character nominated from each telesyre, these being; Best soap opera, est lead couple, Best Support actor,Best support Actress and Best Soundtrack. This post gives the results of our polls carried out on Facebook.
a.Best Soap on Kenyan TV (KTN)

Lizquen's Forevermore directed by Cathy Grace Molina edged out the rest of the shows by taking 66% of the votes. The rest were as follows:
2. My Destiny- 22%
3. Two wives- 9%
4. Losing Heaven- 3%

b. Best Lead Couple

Once again, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil (Agnes and Xander) effortlessly won this category, taking 70% of the votes. The rest were as follows:
2.Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez (Grace and Matthew)- 25%
3.Kaye Abad and Jason Abalos (Yvonne and Victor)- 4%
4.Carla Abellana and Mike Tan (Ellery and Jonas)- 1%

c. Best Support Actor 

Forevermore's Jay played by Diego Loyzaga  continued the winnng streak for Forvermore by taking 50% of the votes. The rest were as follows;
2. Albert from Two Wives played by Patrick Garcia- 40%
3.Jacob from My Destiny played by Sid Lucero- 10%
4. Enrico from Losing Heaven played by Frank Magalona- 0%

d. Best Support Actress

Janine from to Two Wives played by Erich Gonzales managed to break Forevermore's winning trend by getting 42% of the votes. The rest were as follows:

2.Kate from Forevermore played by Sofia Andres- 25%
3. Joy from My Destiny played by Rhian Ramos- 19%
4. Bridgette from Losing Heaven played by Michell Madrigal- 14%

e. Best Soundtrack. 

Forvermore's soundtrack Forevermore by  Juris Fernandez won this chategory with 57% of the votes. The rest were as follows;
2. Kung Hindi Ikaw by James Wright for My Destiny- 36%
3. Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa by Morisette Amon for Two Wives- 7%
4. Nasaan by Jessa Zaragoza for Losing Heaven- 0%


That is is for KeMPhi this year and I think it's safe to say that Forevermore was the highlight for Kenyan fans of Filipino showbiz! Thank you to everyone who voted and let's look forward to a better year in 2017!
