The story behind the Legaspis…

For our “Did You know” Friday entry this this week, we feature Filipino celebrities; Forevermore star Zoren Legaspi (Alex) and Doble Kara star Carmina Villarroel-Legaspi (Lucille). Did you know that the two of them are married? Theirs is such a beautiful love story and  here it is...

 Zoren Legaspi married Carmina five years ago, in November of 2012 but they had been together for 12 years before then. Before the got married however, Zoren was linked to Ruffa Gutierrez while Carmina was married to Ramon Padilla in 1998. Carmina separated from Ramon in 2000 and her husband later came out as a transgender, and re-emerged as a woman who now goes by the name BB Gandanghari.

Following Carmina’s separation, she and Zoren who had been long time neighbors got closer as friends and eventually got together. Carmina gave birth to their twins, Cassy and Maverick in 2001. The couple was however unable to get married because of legalities pertaining to Carmina’s marriage to Ramon Padilla but the marriage was finally annulled in August of 2012.

Zoren then decided that the best gift he could give Carmina was a surprise wedding for her birthday that November.  He arranged in a little over a month without letting Carmina know. He pulled off arranging their wedding in secret by staging a wedding commercial shoot with him, Carmina and their children as the key stars with the help of ABSCBN. It was not until they were going to shoot the “commercial” that Carmina learned that she was getting married! Zoren proposed to her and they proceeded  to get married that same day in front of their family and friends from showbiz. It was a fairy tale wedding that every woman dream!

The couple is still together and celebrated the sweet 16^th birthday of their twins, Cassy and Maverick in January this year.
