Episode 7
We started with Phil telling Pinang that he could accompany
her home but she said that she could take a tricycle.
Pinang noticed that Phil
did not look as jovial as he usually did and asked her what was wrong. Phil
said that he felt better when he saw her and Pinang left in a tricycle.
Marcy called her friend in Singapore to ask if there was
anything that could be done to get her a job in Singapore because they needed
the money.
The restaurant finally called Pinang to tell her that she
got the contract to supply them with her custard. She was overjoyed with the
news and when she got home, she asked her mother’s friend in Singapore not to
bother with getting Marcy a job because they already had a way to make some
money.
Mackie also called Emil to tell him that things were falling
in place where he was working in Korea so he would be able to send them some
money soon. With this and Pinang’s contract, Emil visited his brother Andy to
try and ask him not to sell the farm yet. He wanted to speak to Andy and his
wife but Sol said that she had an appointment and left the two of them to talk.
Emil tried to convince Andy not to sell the farm but he said that he had to
discuss it with Sol first. He said that he would not promise him anything but
he would try.
Phil finally got ready to go back to Singapore along with
Terrence and Rose but Phil was still sad because he had not been able to patch
things up with Marcy. They left in a hurry the following morning but when they
got to the airport, Phil realized that he had left the wallet containing his
travel documents back at the house. Terrence and Rose went without him and Phil
had to go back to the house to get his documents.
Nars saw Phil and gave him a souvenir that Migaela left for
him before she went to visit her mother in Singapore. They got to talk about
Pinang and Nars said that she was very happy that she got the job with De Luna’s
and Phil asked why it was so important to her. Nars told him that Pinang and
her family were having problems because they were about to get evicted from
their farm. He said that they had problems when Pinang’s mother; Aunt Marcy got
back from Singapore and they were not able to make payments for the farm. Phil caught
the name and asked Nars the last name of Pinang’s mother. Nars told him that
her name was Marcy Crisostomo and Phil learnt that Pinang was Marcy’s daughter.
Phil went to Marcy’s house and both Marcy and Pinang were
surprised to see him there. Marcy dragged Phil to talk to him in private while
Emil explained to Pinang and Julian that the reason their mother got back from
Singapore was because Phil stole a necklace and Marcy got blamed so she got
deported.
Phil tried to tell Marcy he was sorry again because he now
realized why she could not forgive him. Marcy said that she had tried not to
blame him for everything but she could not because it was his fault that she
got deported. She asked Phil to leave and when Pinang joined them, she and
Julian told Phil to leave.
Phil went back to Rose’s place and asked if he could still
stay there because he missed his flight and had to rebook a new one. Rose’s
mother said that it was fine with her and offered him the guest room.
As Phil went to rest in his room, he counted out 25,000
Pesos that he had in his wallet and decided that it would do for the moment
because he wanted to help out Marcy’s family.
The following morning, Andy and his wife Sol went to visit
Emil and his family to tell them that they were going to sign the papers for
the farm’s sale the following day. Marcy cried as Emil asked how long they had
before they had to leave the farm and Andy said that after he signed all the
papers, they had two weeks to leave the property.
Episode 8
Andy and Sol went home and Andy was not happy that he had to
evict his own brother from his home. Sol said that he should not get sentimental
about it because it was just business.
Pinang talked to her parents and Julian and she said that
she found a house in town. She said that it would be good for them and they all
agreed to go see it later in the afternoon.
Phil got the money and asked Nars to meet him. He gave it to
Nars and explained the situation with him. He asked that Nars give the money to
Pinang because it would help them and he would send more once he got back to
Singapore. Nars did not want to accept the money but then Pinang called to
inform him that their farm had been sold. Phil therefore insisted that Nars
take the money but Nars said that Pinang would never accept it if she learnt
that it came from him. Phil told him not to tell Pinang that the money came
from him.
When Nars saw Pinang at the hospital, he gave her the money
but Pinang refused to accept it saying that if she really needed it, she would
ask. Migaela called them from Singapore an empathized with Pinang when she
learnt that their farm had been sold. She offered her house to them but Pinang
said that they already had a place to move into.
Julian thought of dropping out of school and looking for a job but Pinang told him that he should not
give up on his dreams because of the setback because she was sure that they
would get through it.
Emil had a meeting with his workers at the farm to inform
them that it would be their last harvest because the farm had already been
sold. He also met a friend of his in town to sell his Jeep so that they could
have enough money to make the move.
Phil tried to talk to Pinang when he saw her and explain
that he was only 12 years old when the incident happened but Pinang told him
that it was no excuse because she knew what was right from wrong when she was
12.
Marcy’s coworkers at the school told her to ask for any help
if she needed it. Later, Emil went to pick Marcy up and they went with Pinang,
Julian and Nars to see the house. They said they would take it and the landlady
said that another family wanted to rent it but the one who paid first would get
the house. They had to pay a down payment and two months advance which amounted
to 24,000. Marcy said that they could pay half of the money then and the rest
later but the landlady wanted the amount in full. Nars took Pinang aside and
offered her the money again. He told her to take it because they really needed
it and Pinang finally agreed. They were able to pay the deposit for the house
but she told Nars that they would pay it back.
Phil texted Nars to ask how things went and Nars texted him
back saying that Pinang took the money. Phil called Nars to get a clear
explanation but since Nars was with Pinang, he rejected the call.
Nars met up with Phil at a restaurant and explained to him
that Pinang was able to pay for the down payment with the money he gave.
Phil booked another flight to Singapore and Rose’s family
were supposed to drive him out to the airport the following morning. They asked
him to be up early so that he would not miss his flight again. Phil however did
not want to leave with Pinang still angry at him and he remembered Nars telling
him that Pinang liked a certain type of flowers. When he looked them up online,
he learnt that they were in Baguio.
Phil left that evening for Baguio to look for the flowers
and left a note saying that he would be back in time to leave for the airport.
He had a hard time getting the flowers because they were out of season but he
finally managed to get some.
He arrived back in time to leave for the airport but he
asked for favor’; for them to pass by Pinang’s clinic before they left. Phil found Pinang asleep at the clinic and we
ended as he carefully lay out the flowers around the office…
