Episode 9
We started with Phil running into Pinang outside the clinic.
He caught her before she fell and Pinang asked him what he was doing there.
Phil said that he wanted to say goodbye because he was leaving for Singapore
and Pinang told him to go.
When Pinang entered the office, there were everlasting flowers
all around. There was a note on the desk saying the flowers were for her and
when Nars entered, he too gushed at the sight. Pinang told her that Phil had
been there a while ago and Nars surmised that he was the one who brought them
because he had told him that Pinang liked Everlasting flowers.
When Phil was at the airport, he called Nars to find out if
Pinang liked the flowers. Nars laughed because Phil got dried flowers instead
of new ones but he assured him that the flowers made Pinang happy and that was
all Phil wanted to know.
When Phil arrived in Singapore, Chelsea called to complain that
he never answered her calls. Phil said that he had just arrived but Chelsea
said he was lying. She went to his place to check on him later but Phil was
already asleep so she stocked up his fridge and left.
Andy’s daughter, Gab went home to celebrate her birthday and
she wanted to invite all her relatives to the party. Andy and Sol did not think
Emil and his family would want to go because of the issue with the farm but Gab
said that she wanted all her relatives there. She texted Pinang and reminded
her to bring her entire family to the party.
Migaela returned from Singapore and brought some souvenirs
for Nars and Pinang.
When Pinang told her family about the party, Emil and Marcy
asked her to go with Julian instead because they needed to pack up their stuff
before moving out of their house. Gab however arrived and begged all of them to
come. She insisted that they all go and Emil could no longer say no. Pinang
also agreed to make her custard Desserts for Gab.
Emil sold his Jeep so when they went to the party; they all
arrived in a jeep. Anita; Emil’s sister arrived at the same time as them and
she asked Emil where his Jeep was. Emil told her that they sold it and Anita
felt bad for asking so they all decided to go inside.
Once inside, Gab welcomed them warmly and ushered them to
their table. Andy then called for a toast to celebrate his daughter’s birthday
and asked Emil to join the other men for a drink. Later, Andy started to sing
and asked Emil to join him because he was a good singer but Emil declined. Marcy
went over to Emil to ask if he was fine and he said that he wanted to leave. He
said he would go to the restroom first and then they would go home.
As Emil was preparing to leave, Andy offered to take him
home but Emil refused. Anita, Sol, Gab, Pinang, Julian and Grandpa were all
there when Emil lost his temper and asked his siblings why they needed so much
money when they both lived comfortable lives. All he wanted was for them not to
sell his part of the farm because it was the only thing he and his family had
but they did not want to consider him. Pinang asked him to calm down and they
left. When they got home, they called Mackie
to finally tell him that the farm had been sold and they would be moving out
the following day.
Andy and Gab felt sad after Emil’s outburst but Sol told
them that they should not be made to feel like bad people when they had allowed
Emil and his family to live in their farm and make a living for the past ten
years.
Chelsea went to see Phil the following morning and they
argued again about how she invaded in his life and Chelsea said that she was
only trying to make up for lost time.
She then asked how his vacation went and Phil said that he was able to
meet Marcy and she was still mad at him for getting her deported. Chelsea asked
if that was the only thing she told him
and said Phil that she said nothing else.
Emil rented out a
jeep to help his family move out and all their workers at the farm joined them
for dinner to tell them goodbye. They also said that they would go there the
following day to help them move.
Anita, Andy and Sol met with the buyers of the farm to
finalize the payment. They were supposed to get all three titles, for Andy,
Emil and Anita each valued at 3.5 million Pesos. They however said that they
would only get two titles because one of their investors had backed out.
Andy and Anita drove to Emil’s place and found him all but
ready to leave. His family was sad because they had to leave their home but
Andy arrived in time to tell them the good news that they did not have to leave
because their title had not been sold. They said that the buyers asked for a
year to collect the money they were missing but if Emil came up with if first,
he could buy it back. Emil hugged his family and his siblings because they no
longer had to leave their home.
Episode 10
Marcy prepared a feast for everyone; including the people
who had gone to help them move. They were enjoying the beef stew when Andy’s
car approached once again and they were all worried that he was there to give
them bad news.
Andy arrived with Anita but they were there to give Emil a
share of the money that they made from the farm. Emil did not want to accept it
but they both insisted that he have it. They gave him half a million Pesos and
Emil said that the money would go towards saving up the money they needed to
buy back the farm.
They now needed 3 million before the year was up and they
all sort to save up before then.
Nars accompanied Migaela home and he told her all about Phil’s
connection with Marcy. He warned her not to be so infatuated with Phil because
he seemed to be more interested in Pinang; adding that he went all the way to
Baguio to get Pinang flowers and that was a lot of effort on his part.
Phil went out with Terrence, Rose and some of their friends
and a girl at the club started hitting on him. Phil entertained her for a while
but he remembered Pinang and told the girl to go home because he was tired.
Migaela was disturbed with what Nars told her so she called
Phil. Phil had just gotten home and he said that he had gone out with some
friends because he did not have a girlfriend. Migaela asked whether he got flowers for Pinang because he was interested
in her and Phil said that with his past with Marcy, it would not be ideal for
him to go after Marcy. Migaela was happy to hear that so she did not have any
inhibitions about telling him about the latest development on Pinang’s farm;
that they had one year to raise 3
Million to buy the farm back.
The next morning, Phil made
pancakes and invited his mother for breakfast. The moment Chelsea was
inside the door, she asked him what he wanted because the last time he made her
pancakes, he asked her for a car. Phil said that he needed 96,000 Singapore
Dollars for and investment but he would pay her back. Chelsea demanded what
Phil needed so much money for and he told her that he wanted to but land in the
Philippines. He told her about the plan to loan Marcy the money so that they
could secure the land and pay him back slowly but Chelsea said that it was not
his problem. Phil said that he was the reason they lost the farm after Marcy
got deported and he wanted to make it up to her. Chelsea asked for some time to
think about it.
When Chelsea went to her house, she complained about Phil
but her husband told her to loan Phil the money because he would pay it back.
Chelsea said that she did like hearing about Marcy because Phil always compared
them and considered Marcy a better mother than she was. Her husband asked her
to go on a business trip with him so that she could relax.
Phil met up with his friends; they worked together and he
asked that they consider getting more clients for their website creation
business. They were able to close one deal and Phil called his mother after to
give her the good news. He asked her whether she arrived at a decision considering
the loan he asked for and Chelsea said she had. She told him that it was a bad
idea and a waste of money so she would not give it to him.
Phil went out with Terrence later and as they were drinking,
Chelsea called again to tell Phil that she would be going on a trip for a week
or so. Phil went back home to get his mother’s check book and he decided to
travel back to the Philippines.
Pinang received her first pay check for her Custard desserts
from De Luna’s and gave it to her parents so that they could add it to their
savings.
Julian also wanted to get a job but the place he applied to
was looking for a full time worker. He wanted to quit school and take the job
but his parents asked him to study first.
Mackie called Marcy to tell her that some of his work mates
would be travelling home to the Philippines and he had bought some things for
them and they had to go get them. Pinang said that she would go with Lotlot;
Mackie’s girlfriend to Manila to get the package.
As they were waiting for the terminal, the bus they were
going to take arrived bringing passengers from Manila. The last to get off was
Phil and he rushed over to greet Pinang when he saw her waiting in line. He
said he had gotten back from Singapore and wanted to talk to her. Pinang hurriedly
got in the bus and left with Lotlot who was very curious about Phil. On the way
to Manila, Pinang explained everything to her.
When they went to get the package in Manila, they asked
Mackie’s coworker if they could send some stuff for Mackie when he went back
but the man said that he would not be going back. He told them that their
employer in Korea mistreated them and he did not want to leave his children
when they were so young. He also said that the situation was bad but Mackie had
chosen to stay and work.
When they got home, Nars and Migaela were there too. Marcy
noticed that Pinang looked worried and asked what was wrong. Pinang and Lotlot
told them what they learnt and this alarmed everyone. They tried to call Mackie
but his rude boss answered the phone saying that Mackie was gone. They did not
know how to reach him so Emil went out to talk to a friend with a son who
worked in Korea and they could help look for Mackie.
Nars and Migaela accompanied a devastated Lotlot home then
went to meet Phil. Phil told them about his plan to help Pinang and her family
buy their farm back and he wanted to know what they thought. Both of them were
not sure whether Pinang would accept his help or not.
The following day, Emil and Marcy got ready to go to Mackie’s
agency to ask about what happened to him but they received an international
call. It was Mackie and he told them he was fine. Marcy wanted him to come back
home but Mackie said that he was safe and would try to look for another job. He
assured her that he would go home if things did not work out.
Phil stayed with Rose’s family when he returned and he woke
up early the next morning to see Pinang. He waited for her during her delivery
to De Luna’s and begged to talk to her but Pinang got into her bike ready to
go. Phil said he wanted to help her get her farm back and she asked him how he
intended on doing that. Phil said that he would loan them the 3 million they
needed to buy their farm back and this stopped Pinang. That was where we ended…
