Episode 47
We started with Phil telling Arthur and Dahlia that Pinang
asked him not to court her any more.
Julian told Mackie and Pinang about Margaret mentioning that
he was poor hence she could not be with him. Pinang asked him not to pay any
mind to that because he had many more admirable qualities.
At school, Julian signed up for the football try outs hoping
that he would get in because it would mean that he would have a scholarship and
his parents would not have to pay for his fees. His friends teased him saying that
if he got into the team, Margaret might finally agree to be his girlfriend.
Margaret joined them and asked Julian to train hard to get the scholarship.
Julian said that he did not have a ball at home but he would try to train while
at school.
Pinang went to the red cross training with Nars and Miggy
and they noted that she seemed sad; a symptom of a broken heart. After class,
the three of them went to Julian’s café and they praised Julian for being a
hard worker as Margaret listened to them.
When Phil went to see to his ducks and Grandpa Apo gave him
a pep talk. He told Phil that just because he was asked not to court Pinang, he
should not stop courting the family; which would add him more points. He told
Phil to be patient and not to quit on Pinang. Marcy and Emil passed by the duck
pen and Phil happily greeted them. He also paid Marcy for his lunch and asked Emil
to take care of her because it was hot.
Grandpa Apo told Phil some Filipino phrases and he asked
Arsing, Badong and Roger to translate them for him. He added that he wanted to
learn Tagalog and asked them to correct him if he said anything wrong.
Phil talked to Terrence and Rose to update them on what
happened with Pinang, adding that he was not giving up yet. He asked Terrence
how he was able to gain the trust of Rose’s siblings because he wanted to get
along with Mackie and Julian. Terrence told Phil to be interested in the things
that Pinang’s siblings like and follow
them on social media to see what they like. Phil searched for Julian on Facebook
and sent him a friend request. He tried to look for Pinang but he did not find
her profile.
When he went to Pinang’s he found Julian and Grandpa Apo
going to cut coconut branches for broom sticks and offered to go with them. Phil
insisted on going up the tree and when Pinang went to get Julian and Grandpa
for breakfast, she was alarmed to see Phil up there. She scolded Julian for
letting Phil go up the tree when he was not used to it and then ordered Phil to
go down. Phil smiled while Julian and Grandpa Apo laughed because Pinang showed
too much concern for Phil.
The following day at school, Margaret gave Julian a ball to
practice before the try outs. She said that it belonged to her father and Julian
could have it since no one was using it. Julian happily accepted the gift and
promised Margaret that he would take care of it.
Emil talked to Phil about selling his ducks because he
seemed to be wasting his time raising them while they did not earn him any
money. Phil said that he was studying them because he wanted to create an online
game about ducks. Emil then said that once Phil was done, he should tell them
so that they could help them look for buyers. Grandpa Apo asked Phil not to have
his ducks sold because he would no longer have a reason to go to their place.
At home, he showed the ball to Marcy and Pinang. Marcy
commented that Phil was good at football and she used to go watch his matches
when she was with him in Singapore. Julian was about to say something but he
stopped because of Pinang.
In the morning, Julian was playing around with the ball and kicked it to where Phil was. Phil
dribbled it and Julian was impressed by his skills. Phil told Julian that he
was part of his varsity team and Julian said that he would try out for his school’s
team too so that he could get a scholarship. When Phil heard this, he offered
to train Julian but Julian was reluctant to accept the offer because of Pinang.
Phil told Julian that Pinang did not have to know and they agreed to start
training immediately. Pinang watched them chatting from the house but ran to
hide when Phil looked her way.
Julian went ahead to the training field and texted Phil the
location. Phil finished feeding his ducks and rode away in a hurry, refusing to
tell Badong, Arsing and Roger where he was going. They said that maybe Phil was
going after a new love and Pinang was disappointed as she listened to them.
Episode 48
Julian returned late in the evening after training with Phil.
Mackie asked him who he was training with and he had to make sure that Pinang
was not around before he admitted that it was Phil. He explained to Marcy that
Phil was the one who had offered to train him after he learnt that he was
trying out. Marcy said that she had no problem with it as long as Phil was okay.
In the morning, Phil greeted Julian good morning with a wave
and Pinang thought that he was greeting her without knowing that Julian was
behind her. She was embarrassed when Julian returned the greeting and then
asked him since when he and Phil had been so close. She asked if Julian was
hiding anything from her but Julian denied it. He said that he would leave to
go train then stopped over to tell Phil something.
The two of them set up a training schedule and Phil made
sure that Julian followed through.
Marcy told Emil that Phil had offered to train Julian and he
said he did not have a problem. He asked about Pinang and Marcy told him that
Julian and Phil had decided not to tell her about it. Emil talked to Phil and
thanked him for helping Phil with the training.
Mackie and Lotlot continued to apply for jobs abroad
although Mackie still wanted Lotlot to stay and work at home.
After the red cross class, Gab called Pinang to ask where
she was. She offered to pick Pinang up along with Miggy and Nars so that they
could go out. When she arrived, she said that she missed the gang and asked about
Phil. Pinang had to tell her about turning Phil down and Gab empathized with
her. Gab asked Pinang if she made the right decision turning down Phil and
Pinang said that she did.
When Gab drove Pinang home, they saw Phil and Gab asked him
what he had been up to. Phil told her that he had been working on an online
game and asked to show it to both of them. Pinang said she was busy and had
things to do so Phil showed the game to Gab instead. Gab giggled and gushed at
Phil’s game as Pinang watched them from the house. Grandpa Apo told her to join
them since she was still Phil’s friend but Pinang refused to go.
Phil got a text from Julian and got up hurriedly to leave.
Gab got curious and Phil asked her to join him as long as she did not tell
Pinang what they would be doing. They both said goodbye to Pinang and Grandpa
Apo and drove off in Gab’s car. Pinang was left wondering where the two of them
had gone together.
When Gab learnt that Phil was helping Julian train, she asked
to join them and changed into her work out clothes that she always kept in her
car. When they were done, she took pictures with Phil only and posted them on
Instagram. Miggy saw the post and sent it to Pinang.
Miggy and Nars went to help Pinang open social media pages
since she now had an android phone. Pinang refused to acknowledge that she was
bothered seeing Phil together with Gab but she cried once her friends left;
wondering whether Phil had moved on because he seemed happy and unaffected.
Julian was tired and hungry when he arrived home. Pinang
wanted to know who he was training with and Julian said that he was doing it
with his classmates.
Gab joined Phil and Julian again in the morning workout. She
told Phil that Pinang had opened social media accounts and asked him to check
if Pinang had sent him one. Unfortunately, Phil did not find any requests so he
decided to send one himself. When Pinang saw it, she ignored it and refused to
accept it.
Gab posted a video of her doing push-ups with Phil on
Instagram and Nars and Miggy saw it! They showed it to Pinang and her face
dropped! That was where we ended…
