Filipino remakes of 2015!

This year has seen the best of Filipino drama have remakes and I could only help but wonder how the shows are doing so far. Am giving my fellow fans a sneak peak of epicness that is currently going on in Pinoy televisions in hope that in the near future, these shows will also grace our screens.

1. Pasion De Amor  

Pasion De Gavilanes

 Pasion De amor is an adaptation of Pasion De Gavilanes (Hidden Passions) by Telemundo Studios which aired on NTV Kenya some years back staring Mario Cimarro and Danna Garcia alongside a high profile cast. It is a story of three brothers on a quest for revenge when their sister dies. They however end up falling for three sisters of the family that they are seeking revenge from and the story ends up spinning in an entirely different direction. 

Pasion De Amor

Already months into the story since its premier in June, the Filipino remake consists of an ensemble of stars led by Ikaw Lamang star Jake Cuenca who plays Juan. He is accompanied by Ejay Falcon as Oscar and Joseph Marco as Franco who play his brothers. The sisters are played by Arci Munoz as Norma, Ellen Adarna as Sarah and Coleen Garcia as Jimena; paired respectively in the above order.

2. Marimar

Marimar 2007

Banking on the success of Marian Rivera’s Marimar, GMA sort to remake the show again this year which is top billed by Miss World 2013 winner; Megan Young alongside Tom Rodriguez as Sergio.

Marimar 2015

The show premiered in August and sources say that although some of the elements in the story have been changed with introduction of new characters the show is slowly becoming quite a hit like its predecessor.

3. The Promise

PSY 2000

I have done quite a few articles on the Pangako Sa Yo remake, which premiered early this year. The show staring Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernado as Angelo and Yna is another prime

time hit considering some of the dynamics in the original story have also been changed.
