DOLCE AMORE Episode 23

We started with everyone arriving at the party; Luciana arrived with Roberto, while Serena arrived with Gian Carlo.
Sarah arrived by herself and Luciana asked her where she had left Tenten. She said that Tenten was out packing the car. When Tenten arrived, he looked quite dapper in his suit and Serena was happy to see him looking so handsome. Gian Carlo however tried to dim Tenten’s spotlight by saying that he looked good but needed to spruce up a little bit more. Serena cut in and said that Tenten looked really handsome.
When they sat down to eat, Tenten wanted to put the dining cloth on his neck but Sarah hit him and gestured for him to put it across his leg. Once again, Tenten was seated between Luciana and Sarah and Luciana took the opportunity to learn more about him. She asked him where he lived and whether his family had any wealth or prestige. Tenten said that he lived at a simple place and his family was not wealthy but his family was good and they lived happily. Serena seemed pleased with Tenten’s answer since she smiled at him. Gian Carlo only looked at Serena with those very jealous eyes. Luciana then asked Tenten if he went to school. Tenten said that he did not study but was planning on reapplying to a university. This pleased Serena even more. Luciana asked if Tenten and Sarah were a couple to which both Tenten and Sarah said no. Luciana asked why not since Sarah was a fine lady. Tenten answered that if they had met at a different time, maybe he would have dated her. Roberto took this to mean that Tenten loved someone else and Gian Carlo commented that Tenten must have been in love with quite a fine lady if he was turning down Sarah. This elicited an angry look from Serena.
In the middle of the event, the hostess Madam Claudia introduced a singer which shifted everyone’s attention to the stage. The waiter went to pour Tenten some wine but he declined. Serena saw this and texted Tenten  telling him not to take any wine. They started texting each other back and forth, smiling at each other which caught Gian Carlo’s attention. He was so upset; he woke up and left the table. Luciana followed him and asked him what was wrong but Gian Carlo said that nothing was bothering him. Luciana insisted that he tell her because only then, would she be able to help him.
Serena went to sit next to Tenten and asked him if it was true that he was returning to school. Tenten said it was true and had decided on it after what she had told him during the time they were at the resort. Tenten also asked her what it is she wanted to talk to him about and Serena said that it was not the right time for them to speak about it. Tenten took an unhealthy bite of his soup and ended up pouring it on himself, so he woke up and left for the bathroom to clean himself up. On the way, he saw Gian Carlo and Luciana talking and waved at them. Gian Carlo’s face instantly changed to a murderous one and Luciana instantly knew that Tenten was the problem.
When they returned to the table, Luciana wanted to embarrass Tenten so she asked Claudia,  the party hostess to let Tenten be the volunteer for the table and read a poem for the guests. Tenten was not able to refuse so he took the little book and was super nervous. Claudia ushered him to the podium and it was a disastrous as Tenten struggled to recite the poem with his poor Italian, his terrible lisp and nervousness all working against him. Serena watched him and tried to give him confidence but Tenten only struggled on. Serena had enough and joined Tenten on the podium. She took the mike away from Tenten and easily recited the rest of the poem as Tenten stood next to her and watched.

She was applauded and then continued on to introduce herself. She said that like the poem had stated, she had fallen in love with everything the Philippines had to offer and it did not matter that she was from a prestigious Italian family. She said that she had fallen in love with the Jeepneys, with the water, with the food, with the people and most importantly, she fell inlove with the most amazing person she had ever met in her life; her friend from Tondoo! Tenten cut her short and told her not to say that she loved him if she was only trying to defend him. With tears in her eyes, Serena said that it was true; she had fallen in love with him. She hugged Tenten in front of everyone as she repeatedly said that she loved Tenten and it was then that Luciana and Roberto went and took her away.
Tenten tried to follow them but Gian Carlo stopped him and asked him if he knew just what he had done. Tenten told him that it was never his intention to take Serena away and Gian Carlo told him that it was just an excuse people say; that they could not help who they loved. He added that all
Meanwhile, Luciana scolded Serena for embarrassing them and demanded that she talk to Gian Carlo and take back everything she had said about Tenten. Serena refused to do it and Luciana ended up fighting with Roberto after she blamed him for everything because it was he who sent Serena to the Philippines on her own. Roberto told her that she was not blameless and she felt offended for being called a bad mother. Once Luciana left, Roberto talked more calmly to Serena and asked her why she had not told them about her feelings instead of embarrassing them in front of everyone. Serena apologized and said that she had only intended to defend her friend. She said that she really wanted to talk to her parents about her feelings for Tenten but she could not do so when they all dictated that she should love someone else. She however said that she would return to Italy with them.
Tenten went home and told his family what had happened. They too had been out at a singing Bar where Binggoy had hogged the microphone and they ended up being kicked out of the bar. He asked them what he was supposed to do after learning that Serena loved him too since he was sure that Serena was going to be on the next flight to Italy. He asked his mother if he should fight for Serena because he felt that the world was big enough to let the two of them love each other.
At the Karaoke Bar, Angel was able to sing after Binggoy and his friends left. Her parents watched her with pride and Alice, Angel’s mother thought about how proud Monica (Angel’s younger sister) would be.

Luciana called Gian Carlo to apologize for what Serena had done and said that she did not understand why Serena had changed so much. We ended with Gian Carlo telling Luciana that his father would not be happy to hear what was had happened…
