We started with Dodoy and Taps celebrating their anniversary
in front of their friends and they shared wonderful words about each other.
Tenten and Serana watched on while
holding hands with tears in their eyes. They played the song they composed for
the couple and Binggoy played one as well which gave Serena and Tenten a chance
to dance. Taps and Dodoy were on the dance floor as well but all the fun came to
an end when Dodoy collapsed on the floor while clutching his chest.
He was rushed to the hospital and after examination, the
doctor said that his heart arteries were blocked and they needed to perform
bypass surgery for him to get better. The procedure however was very expensive
and they needed one million to have it done. Taps told the doctor that it was a
huge amount so the doctor said that if they could give a down payment, they
could perform the operation.
Tenten and Binngoy therefore started sourcing for money and
even Serena offered to help but Tenen asked her not to do anything.
When Serena went home however, she told her parents about
Dodoy’s condition and asked them to help Tenten. Luciana refused to help saying
that she had offered the Ibarras money but they had refused to accept it. She
even cursed in Filipino which left Serena wondering where she had learned
Filipino. Luciana stormed off and we learned through a flash back that she had
once loved a Filipino man who left her when she got pregnant. She abandoned the
child and returned to Italy, swearing never to return to the Philippines ever
again.
Roberto spoke to Serena and said that he would help Tenten
but asked her not to tell her mother about it.
Meanwhile, Gian Carlo flew back to Italy and he continued to
make plans with Luciana about the Merger and his impending marriage to Serena.
Luciana assured him that he would marry Serena and even planned to be back in
Italy the next day.
In the morning, the maids packed Serena’s suitcases and when
she asked her parent what was going on, Luciana told her that they were leaving
for Italy. Serena begged them to let her stay in the Philippines for a few more
days so that’s she could be assured that Dodoy was going to be okay, and then
they would leave.
Luciana had to call Gian Carlo to ask him to cancel their
plans but she asked him not to despair because he was going to marry Serena.
We also met Alice’s family who was looking for their long lost
daughter Monica. Angel, the other daughter is a singer and entered a
competition in order to win the money and help her mother look for her sister.
They had lost Monica while fleeing a civil war in Ascovia.
Tenten managed to get a donation from his boss and coworkers
and from Sarah as well while Taps got a contribution from the people at Tondoo
who auctioned their goods in order to raise some money. Binngoy did some gigs
with his band and tried to get the mayor to help him out but he was thrown away
after the guard recognized him from a riot Binngoy had organized against the
mayor before he got elected.
Serena and her father went to see Tenten at the hospital and
Roberto gave Taps a cheque worth half a million but she turned it down. Robert
had asked Taps to tell Serena that Dodoy would be fine so that she could agree
for them to return to Italy. Taps told Roberto that he was the same as his
wife, adding that they could not buy their dignity and if they died, they would
die with their self-respect still intact. Roberto asked that Taps forget what
he had said and accept the money for Serena’s sake but she handed it back to
him.
When Roberto told Serena that Taps had refused the money,
she went and asked Tenten why his family refused their help while they had
accepted everyone else’s, even Sarah. Tenten asked her not to misunderstand and
respect his mother’s decision because she had her reasons.
A distraught Binggoy went to the hospital after failing to
get help from the mayor and heard that Taps had refuse to accept money from
Serena’s family. He got mad because it seemed absurd to refuse it when they really
needed it but Taps told him that the
money was not worth their dignity. The three of them; Binggoy, Taps and Tenten
were standing outside Dodoy’s room when he suffered some complications. The
doctor managed to stabilize him but told
the family that Dodoy needed the surgery as soon as possible. That’s where we
ended….
