Episode 53
We started with Phil delivering his last batch of eggs to his
customer and he told her that if she wanted more eggs, she should ask Arsing, Badong
or Roger.
He ran into Nars who was jogging and asked why he did not invite him
to jog together but Nars was hostile as he told Phil that he did not think Phil
might want to join them because he had been training with Gab and Julian. Phil
said that it was no problem and he could easily do both. He noticed Nars’ mood
and asked why he seemed upset with him and Nars asked Phil whether he liked
Gab. Phil said that he did because she was a cool friend and Nars asked him why
he had given her a letter if she was only his friend. Phil explained that he
asked Gab to translate the letter for him to Filipino because it was for Pinang.
He showed it to Nars who commented about how Pinang was jealous for nothing.
Phil smiled after hearing that Pinang had been jealous and rushed off on his
bike to go see her.
Nars and Miggy tried to call Pinang and ask her to get out of
the house before Phil arrived. Pinang did not understand why she had to do that
so she refused to do it. Nars had to confess that he told Phil she was jealous
about Gab and he did it just as Phil rode up.
Pinang hid and Phil walked around looking for him. She tried
to hide before he saw her but he caught her just before she hid behind a pack
of hay in the fields. When he went to her, Pinang said that she was only laying
around there because it was comfortable. Phil told Pinang about what Nars had said
but she denied being jealous. Phil told her that he had only asked Gab’s help
to help him translate a letter that he had written for her. Pinang told Phil
that she could not accept the letter because she had asked him not to court
her. Phil said that he was not courting her but he had never said that he would
stop loving her. Pinang was taken back by his words but was not able to answer
because she got bitten by ants that were in the fields.
She rushed back home to wash her feet off and Phil helped
her pump the water. She went to put some vinegar on the bites soothe the aches
and Phil was about to hand her the letter but Emil arrived. Pinang explained
that she had been bitten by ants and Phil had helped her. After Phil left, Nars
arrived and Pinang scolded him for telling Phil that she was jealous.
While they were chatting, the hospital where they had
applied to called and told them that they got the nursing jobs. They called
Miggy to ask if she had received a call but she sent them the rejection text
that she had received. Miggy however congratulated them and said that she would
keep looking for a job.
Julian felt better and returned to school for his classes.
Margaret was concerned about him so she asked him to ease up on his foot ball training
until he recovered.
Phil went into town to get Pinang some medicine for the ant
bites and ran into Gab. She asked if Phil had given the letter to Pinang and he
said that he would soon. Gab assured Phil that Pinang would surely agree to
become his girlfriend after reading it.
Phil finally gave Pinang the letter along with the medicine
that he had bought for her.
Pinang wanted to read Phil’s letter but as soon as she got
it out, her parents arrived home so she pocketed it back again. She finally
read it that evening in her room as Phil enumerated how special she had become
for him even if he had only known her for three months. Pinang slept feeling
happy after the letter while Phil stayed up waiting for her reply. He eventually
fell asleep and there was reply from Pinang when he woke up.
Pinang had orientation in the morning at the hospital along
with Nars. Nars arrived early but Piang was yet to arrive so he texted her to
ask where she was. Pinang told him that she was about to arrive but she saw an
elderly patient soil herself so she went to help her change since there were no
nurses available. She arrived late at the orientation and the head nurse said
that she had lost her job. Pinang insisted on explaining herself but the nurse
told her to sit and explain later. Phil texted her good morning but the nurse
said that she had to turn her phone off when she was working so Pinang was not
able to reply to Phil.
After the nurse heard Pinang’s explanation, she decided to
give her job back. Miggy was on the waiting list for the job and was able to
get a slot after one of the hired nurses failed to show up.
Phil was puzzled about Pinang not replying his texts so he
called Nars instead after he saw a picture of him and Pinang on Instagram after
their first day at work. He congratulated Nars on the job and asked how their
first day was. Nars said that it was a little tiring and said that he would get
some rest.
Marcy saw Phil’s letter as she tidied up Pinang’s room but
she did not read it. Pinang was alarmed when she got home, thinking that her
parents saw her letter but everyone acted normal. When she went to her room,
she wrote down a reply for Phil.
Episode 54
Pinang was ready to give Phil his reply when he arrived at
the duck pen. He waved good morning to her and Pinang rushed to her room to get
the letter after greeting Phil. She
asked him how many ducks he had left but Phil said that he had given the rest
of the ducks to Arsing, Badong and Roger to remember him by. Pinang was alarmed
and asked Phil what he meant by that. Phil said that he would be returning to Singapore
and Pinang’s face fell. She wished him the best and returned to the house
without giving him the letter.
Pinang went to cry in her room and wondered why Phil had
given him the letter if he was planning on going back to Singapore. Marcy went
to bring her the nurse uniform and asked why she had been crying. Pinang did
not want to tell Marcy at first but she finally told her that Phil was going
back to Singapore. She added that it was okay but she would just have to go on
and Marcy said that she did not have to say anything because Pinang had already
consoled herself.
Phil talked to Emil and Marcy and told them that he would be
going back to Singapore in time for his mother’s birthday. Emil insisted that
they would continue paying their debt to him and Phil said that it would not be
an issue.
Arsing, Badong and Roger told Phil that Pinang must be
really tired because she had to commute to the hospital and work late into the
night because it was really far. They each gave Phil a duck as a parting gift
when he returned to Singapore. In turn, Phil gave each of them a head band. He
then took them to Dahlia’s house since he no longer had the duck pen.
Phil went to see a tricycle driver and contracted him to
drive Pinang to work everyday and promised to pay him extra.
Mackie got a job in Dubai and called Lotlot to tell her the
good news. Lotlot said that she was also given an offer and was happy that both
of them would travel abroad together.
The ducks Phil brought to Dahlia’s house were messy and ate
his everlasting flowers. He would be able to travel with them to Singapore so
when Julian called to check up on him, he offered to have them stay at their
duck pen.
Phil took the ducks to Pinang’s place and found her feeding
her ducks. He asked if the three ducks could stay there because he could not
take them with him to Singapore and Pinang said it was no bother. Phil told
Pinang that he wanted to talk to her about something and asked why she had not
said anything about his letter, days after he gave it to her. He said he felt
confused because he felt as if it was a rejection from her and it was a mistake
writing that letter to her. Pinang told him that she felt confused and Phil decided
to leave, misunderstanding Pinang’s words. Pinang stopped him from leaving and
explained that she felt confused because his letter and all the thoughtful
things that Phil did for her made her want to reconsider her decision about
giving up on them. This took Phil by surprise as Pinang apologized for appearing
as if she was ignoring him and for hurting him and then ran off after realizing
that she had said too much.
Phil called Terrence and Rose immediately after to tell them
what Pinang had said. They encouraged him but he hang up on them immediately
after Pinang came outside. She was going out to work and Phil escorted her to her
tricycle. The driver gave her an everlasting flower that Phil had left with him
as Phil rode away.
Since Pinang seemed happy when she got to work, Nars and
Miggy made her tell them the new update on Phil. Pinang told them that she told
Phil that she reconsidered her decision not to be with him. Nars and Miggy came
up with a plan to get Pinang and Phil together before they lost each other.
Miggy borrowed Pinang’s phone to text someone but ended up texting Phil and
asked him to join her (Pinang) at the
hospital cafeteria at 7 pm. Phil was surprised and could hardly believe it was
true but he agreed to go.
Marcy had been questioning the decision of making Pinang stay
away from Phil and she visited Elsa to talk about it. Elsa told Marcy that both
Phil and Pinang were responsible and at the right age to date so they should
allow them to be together.
Phil presented to a client and was entirely motivated because
of his coffee date with Pinang that evening. He got the deal and we ended as he
shouted in jubilation…
