The Promise Episode 5

We started with Amor going to see Eduardo at his office to ask for his help. Eduardo refused to talk to her so Amor asked him why he had been ignoring her.
She asked if it was because of Diego and Eduardo asked her why she didn’t tell him that Diego had been courting her. Amor told him that she didn’t think it was necessary. She also told him about Diego raping her but Eduardo refused to believe her since she had already lied to him once. He said that he would rather believe his brother than Amor. He accused Amor of consenting to sleeping with Diego and she slapped him. Amor told him that she regretted trusting her and Eduardo said that he also regretted loving her and trying to fight for her. He got into his car and drove off.
Betty Mae was with Amor and she took her home to find Amor’s family packing up because they had been evicted. Amor apologized to her father fit everything while her step mother blamed her for what happened to them.  Amor’s father defended her and asked his wife not to blame her at least then.
The charges Amor had filed against Diego were dropped after the Buenavista lawyers claimed that Amor had accused him only to get money from them.
Eduardo therefore got formally engaged to Claudia but he left on the day of the party to go look for Amor. Unfortunately, Amor’s family had already moved and Eduardo did not find them. He therefore had no other choice but to marry Claudia.
Meanwhile, Amor found out that she was pregnant and therefore decided to focus on working to take care of her family. She gave birth to a girl who she named Maria Amor.
Meanwhile, Eduardo and Claudia also had a son who they named Angelo.
A few years later, Amor applied to for a job in Hongkong and Betty Mae lent her the money for her plane ticket. She had to leave her daughter with her family and Maria Amor was heartbroken to see her mother leave.
The Buenavista had expanded their mining activities over the years and were using dynamite to blast the mines. A community lived next to the mountains and Amor’s family lived there as well. Amor asked her mother to find another place to live since it was dangerous to stay there. Unfortunately, a landslide happened before Amor’s family could move and they were caught within chaos of the tragedy.
Amor found out about the landslide and asked her employer to let her leave but the lady had to leave for two weeks and asked Amor to stay and look after her mother.
The Buenavistas gave a statement apologizing to the victims of the tragedy and Claudia blamed her father for insisting that they use explosives for the mine. Governor Zalameda was upset for being blamed for the incident since it would tarnish his image but Claudia told him that someone had to take the fall for it.
Most of the people living next to the mountain died from the tragedy but a few were rescued after the search efforts. A police officer found Maria Amor among the ruins and took her with him. He took her to the shelter where the other survivors were but Maria Amor refused to stay there. The police officer therefore took Maria Amor home and decided to adopt her. Maria Amor was wearing Amor’s necklace that Eduardo had given her but it was partially destroyed and only had the words ‘Yna’ on it. The officer and his wife therefore decided to name Maria Amor ‘Yna’. That was where we ended…
