We started with Hilary going to the orphanage to look for Katrina’s sister. The staff there told her that the girl ran away and there was a woman looking for the girls and claimed to know their father.
Hilary asked the people at the orphanage to not to tell the woman that she adopted Katrina because Katrina wanted to live a new life.
Hilary took Katrina to a plastic surgeon to get the scar removed from her face. She then talked to Salvador about adopting a child but he did not want to. They could not have their own child so Hilary tried to convince him. Salvador asked Miranda, his strategist if it was a good idea for them to adopt. Miranda said it would portray a good public image to have a complete family especially because he was planning to run for congress. With Miranda’s approval, Salvador agreed to let Hilary adopt.
Hilary brought Katrina home with her and Salvador was not happy to see that she had already chosen a child. He wanted them to choose a baby instead but Hilary said that Katrina was a sweet child and she needed them. Salvador therefore signed the papers and Katrina’s name was officially changed to Samantha Del Mundo.
Celeste met up with Senator Galvez and he gave her a ticket to Hong Kong. He wanted her to run away because he and his family had been receiving threats. Celeste said he needed to find the children of his colleagues and continued to look for Juliana. She showed her picture to the driver of the taxi she had taken but he said that he had not seen her.
Juliana walked around begging for food because she was hungry. She tried to clean a woman’s shoes to get some money and the woman said she would help her look for her sister. The woman turned out to be a wanted child trafficker and the police were after her. They told Juliana to stay away from her.
Celeste found Juliana and asked her to go with her but Juliana ran away thinking that she was another kidnapper. She ended up bumping into the taxi driver who had driven Celeste. The driver asked her what was wrong but Juliana suddenly collapsed because she was hungry.
Vicente, the driver took Juliana home and fed her. She told them that she had run away from the orphanage where she was staying after her parents died. Vicente and his mother wanted to return her but Juliana said she wanted to look for her sister first. She did not want to go back to the orphanage and begged Vicente to let her stay with him and his family. He was a single father after his wife died so Juliana said she would help around the house so that they would not send her away. She was adopted into the family and they renamed her Ana.
Celeste saw the news of Senator’s death on the news after an alleged mugging. She decided to flee the country because Salvador might go after her. Samantha tried to make friends in school because she no longer had the scar on her face but she still got bullied. A boy, Gael defended her and he turned out to be Miranda’s son. He was also Salvador’s Godson so the two of them grew up together.
Years later, Ana was now part of the Dimasalang family. She worked as a Paramedic and was trying to raise money for a Visa to work in the US.
Samantha was a renowned Jewellery designer and had made a name for herself in Switzerland. She had been trying to win over Salvador’s favor because he never liked her. Meanwhile, Gael was a lawyer and legal counsel.
Ana’s team was assigned to a remote site at DMO mining, a mining company that extracted gold. The mining site was owned by Salvador and they were showing their new investors around the site. Gael was a supervisor at the mine and was trapped inside the cave when it collapsed. Ana went inside and was the one who saved Gael.
Gael sustained serious injuries and had to be on a wheel chair as he recovered. Miranda hired nurses to look after him but Gael was temperamental and fired all of them. He complained to Miranda and asked her to hire a specific person instead. He referred Miranda to the person who saved him during the mine accident and Miranda went to Ana’s Paramedic company to ask for her. Ana said she was not a nurse but agreed to take the job because the money was good and she was saving up for her Visa.
When Ana went to work, Gael said he specifically asked for her and could not stop thinking about her. Ana did not take it kindly that he was flirting with her because she was there to work. She therefore decided to leave so Gael said that he would behave. That’s where we ended…
