Forevermore: Jay Vs Xander...

This battle has gone on for quite some time since we entered into book two of Forevermore. Jay or Xander is now the age old question as they seem to be pitted against each other Episode after episode. Agnes has refused to choose between them, leaving the rest of us to pick our respective sides much like the twins, Judy and Clauie.

It’s quite difficult to choose between Jay and Xander because they are both equally good looking, neither of them are bad people and each of them have done everything that they can to win Agnes without having to result to dirty tactics like Kate had. It is therefore just a matter of weighing who is better at it than the other. Jay however has the upper hand because he has a clean slate with which he can court Agnes unlike Xander who has to struggle to win Agnes back through her already poor perception of him. Agnes doesn’t understand that Xander actually saved her family when he left her because they were seconds away from being torched to death but that doesn’t count for now.

I have kept mum so far about this little pickle we have ourselves in but I have finally come to a decision and it’s about time I said it. I’m with Batman! It’s not because Xander hurt Agnes or that he actually sacrificed himself for her. As a matter of fact, my reasons have nothing to do with what Xander did or did not do. I choose Jay because he has taken upon himself to win Agnes over by being himself. He rocks the free world every day and makes Agnes happy through his own merit. He is who he is, always there to help her without asking anything from her in return while taking every opportunity he has to make her feel special. I most especially liked it when Agnes asked him not to build his life around her since she would only be at the University for a semester. She even tried discourage him by saying that she was moving to another school and Jay sad he would transfer schools just to be with her. Agnes was surprised with him but to Jay it was as simple as that. He wanted to be with her and it was a matter of simplifying the equation and if he had to transfer schools to be with her, he was going to do it.  In life, we try to complicate so many things when all we need to do is simply decide what’s important and do it.

 Jay isn’t competing with Xander at all and it actually seems like Xander is the one competing with him like the smiley scenario. I’m glad Xander finally admitted defeat with that when he said that his idea was genius. I refuse to believe he competed with Xander when he took his shirt off, maybe he was just sweaty… During the Serenade session, Jay destroyed his songs. Xander maybe had more feeling with his songs because he finally got the chance to express his feelings for Agnes. Jay had fun with his music and made everyone swoon while Xander unfortunately got us depressed. Added to Jay’s Macy composition, my hat goes off to him.

This post is therefore a voice to my fellow but very few Batman fans who seem to have been overshadowed by Superman’s numerous followers.  Whoever Agnes ends up with, Let’s Keep Rocking The Free World Dudes!
